Looks great,
ya, just be careful about the min 4inch safety code, with a future owner.

OMG… lololololol
I can see Tubbs and Crocket living in this place now.
looks good but i feel like this modern look could potentially be dated in just a few years. home trends/styles seem to change quite rapidly these days.
What he said.
A man after my own taste. Now if you can only beat the same taste into my wife lol.
I like the stain. I do not like the cable. Its too industrial looking. I personaly like the natural wood finishes since it makes a home feel warm.
That’s really cool Josh.
Serious question:
I was living in an old industrial building in downtown for a while, had “All that is man” written all over it, was a hit with the buddies, a little to edgy with the ladies. She go along with it ?
First off, this isn’t my place, it’s a buddy’s. It’s a bachelor pad and has a lot of other metal/industrial things to accompany this style. It’s sets it off really well.
There’s a fine line between Modern/Contemporary and Industrial.
Personally, I feel these railings fall into “industrial”, but it suits the rest of the place and his lifestyle.
Am I married?.. yes, pretty much (engaged). Fortunately, yes, she loves the contemporary look as well. For my house, I personally won’t be going with this exact style. I’ve been fabricating a lot of “movable” things (i.e. lamps, tables, wall art) that will go into my house when i find a permanent location (out of NY state)
I’m planning to build and have been engineering some preliminary designs along with working with an architect.
I’m trying to design around a wide open, clean/sleek layout, but something that’s “warm” for a home.
for example:
I can’t wait until i start working on the little house projects. I want a lot of little trick hidden mechanical movements and all the things an engineer finds ‘cool’.
Where are you thinking of moving?
Tenessee/Kentucky/North carolina area
somewhere where i don’t need a winter vehicle, yet can go to the mountains and snowboard for a weekend if i wish. Will narrow the search down in the coming year.
<3 your DIY… solid work as always
since it was bumped…
and if you don’t like the other wall art, you may not like the stainless atlas. That’s my boy btw.
no “You are here” marker?
I like the Atlas. What was used to make that? water jet?
i really like the Atlas… the whole upgrade looks nice…
cute lil guy
I drew the whole fricking thing in CAD, by eye, then had it cut w/ laser. The whole thing was arranged to minimize scrap cut out of a 5’x10’ sheet of stainless, then brushed it with sand paper. for prespective, Asia/Europ is 6’ long.
I’m making a similar one out of copper for a guy’s condo down in Florida
For future reference, did the guy pay you for that? Or was it just a favor for a friend sort of thing. I unfortunately don’t have access to such precise machinery.
pay and friend…so both.
