I listen to some country music, and this past summer I went to my first country show…my god, it was heaven
lolno. I haven’t listened to DMB since like 8th grade/Crash or whatever.
It was just an observation. 
new cd releases Tuesday and you can listen to the whole thing on pandora for free right now.
Show was very good, really enjoyed the set list.
I never understand why people hate them so much, the level of talent that they have is off the charts. With Tim on guitar, Jeff from the Flecktones on Sax, and Robert Randolph coming out to play 2 songs on the slide guitar this show was amazing.
Everybody says they suck and are washed up but I go to about 3 shows a year and every venue is packed with people dancing from the lawn to the front row.
I used to really enjoy them about 10 yrs ago. Alot of that stuff was great drinking / house party panty drop music.
I picked up (DL’d) a couple albums a few years back of their newer stuff and the “matured” sound turned me off.
edit - thats not to say the they usually draw a really FUN crowd / atmosphere at their shows. At least, circa '02 when I last went.
they’re like the dead and jimmy buffet… it’s not that they have no talent, it’s that they’re no longer fresh or innovative, but they’ll go on forever.
i used to hate hate HATE dmb. i really enjoy listening to them now.

I am a hardcore DMB fan, have been since my first show in '98. Usually a 3-4 show/year person as well.
To be really honest I can understand how people don’t like them if all they have heard is stuf from the “crash-era”. It is really soft and whatnot.
Their new stuff is incredible, they have really matured as a group. The new music is a lot deeper/darker as well.
I really must say that Carter Beauford is one of the BEST drummers in the biz, hands down.
Since this isn’t OT I’ll try and be “nice”.
So people can’t go to a concert because “they aren’t a true fan” :roflpicard:

That’s a bunch of crap. Busted Stuff (2002) and Stand Up (2005) both were good albums.
My original comment to the ‘non-fans’ wasn’t meant to be hateful.
I’ve just never seen so many random people go to a show they know nothing about and I found it odd.

lol yeppp I’ve got Busted Stuff playing right now. I have 100s of shows DL’d and yet still like listening to this album (even though their music live is 23293829 times better).
oh and for anyone that wants, and doesn’t know http://dreamingtree.org is a great site to DL shows from legally…not that you can really get illegal shows, its rare.
Just another thing I love about DMB and its support for its fans. How many bands this big welcome people to record and share their shows?
if by big, you mean played a lot on my mom’s radio station then i would have to say not a lot. but in all seriousness dmb fucking blows, and the people who like them usually do as well
Posers and Shitheads is from the show Eastbound and Down and im talking about the overwhelming number of people who go just to “party.” Yes I think that is stupid. The same reason why I dont like going to the square. I dont want 15 year old drunk girls ukeing all over me.
it takes all kinds of people. if someone wants to go just to hang out, or even to enjoy a show from a band they normally dont listen to, who are any of us to say anything?
