Do cops sit at PA border and watch/wait for people to come back to ny with fireworks

We were just talking about this at the pizzeria and people here were hearing more and more they have been doing so. Any truth to this. May or may not be going down soon so was wondering.

Are fireworks illegal to possess in NYS? I thought they were just illegal to use. I could be wrong.

I travel that way quite frequently and have never seen a cop at the border, let alone pulling people over.

keep hearing UC’s are grabbing plate #'s and calling them in and waiting in nys and watching. Also not planning on a ‘normal’ purchase either

I have heard of it in the past, and it has happened to larger than normal orders… If you’re nervous, your best bet is to cruise around; go to Erie and get lunch, and get back off at the Ripley exit, take Route 20 back into NYS and hop on the highway an exit or two in.

Not illegal to transport, just illegal to use without a permit. I got a catalog from PA the other day and they spell it right out.

just don’t go to the place right over the border on the thruway… go a little farther or take a little less obvious route… although i really doubt they are seriously staking it out… PA doesn’t want NY cops hanging out at establishments that are intended to get out of state dollars and thus out of state revenue

Go thru portville and down to shinglehouse, Rizers is on the main drag south of town

slap them in the trunk, cover them up, then lock it up. They cannot search your car without permission, if you do get pulled over let the games begin

+2, Like I said, Sky King/Phantom Fireworks are right on Route 20. Just take that back into NY, hop on the thruway at Westfield or Fredonia?

I just made the trip to deliver a car last night all the way over to jersey pretty much. I didn’t see any cops within 50 miles of the border each way…

I’ve never had a problem. The stores take photos of your license and make you sign a statement saying you are aware it’s illegal to take fireworks across state lines, I doubt they’d call you in.

kmart and shit sells fireworks too if you want to avoid a small firework only store thinking they’ll grab your plates and call it in to ny.

I know they do all the license stuff as well. Thatis just protecting them. Will prob just go home another way
