Do some of you realize...

while your panties are still in a knot, tell us 'bout: effect vs. affect

thats another fun one

shit that is one that i dont really understand.

shit that is one that i dont really understand.
:hsugh:

affect: verb
effect: noun

shit that is one that i dont really understand.
ya i never really understood that one either. i think it goes, effect is like the resault of something. like someone did this, and it had this effect. affact is like the impact one has on something. like you can affact something and then you get an effect from it. am i right?

I don’t have to explain what a verb and a noun are, do I?

effect is also a verb :o

eg. to effect changes

ooo good point. I had forgotten to mention it.

I also forgot to point out, Gautam, that it’s “realise,” not “realize.”

Merriam Webster would disagere with you :frowning:

Hand over your badge sir.

Merriam Webster would disagere with you :frowning:

Hand over your badge sir.
Of course Merriam Webster would disagree, they’re an American organisation. I, however, am Canadian. Note the ‘s’ in ‘organisation.’

I’ll keep my badge, thank you.

Maybe someone missed this…

Sulum ut suus. Spelling and grammar is not a battle easily won. However if you choose to fight it, your on your own.

gautam fails

you started a sentence with and.

So? They do it in the Bible

What about spelling whiz as “wiz”?

(Unless “wiz” is your reference to a “wizard” in the short form)

You have been learned. Next…

Where do you think I came up with my argument?

“[Short for wizard.]” from Dictionary.com

EDIT: Bah, this is gay, it works well enough for what you were saying! Watch out Axlerod!

I didn’t hear your explanation for “realize” yet

Bah, this American wannabe ain’t got nothin’ on me!

I didn’t read any of these posts cause im lazy but I was thinking about it before I do this so much! you know what it is?

Its people saying “ur” always on msn. You stop using your and you’re so when you’re (i did it) trying to be formal you say “your” where you should say “you’re” or vise versa, whereas “ur” works in either situation, so I think thats what fucked me up.

Maybe these guys are jsut stupid though? hahaha naww just kidding of course. My theory is ur

^^^ You know what else, Sasha? Fewer and fewer people aged 13-25 read much at all, other than…well…MSN. :o
