right, but do these kids with rich parents deserve a Duke eduction over the NC State students who can’t afford it? That is another discussion for another day though…please don’t reply. Just food for thought.
:mamoru:
Weird I run into this all the time at work I don’t have a 4 year…
I would also not have had 2-3 days of downtime…
that is because I clicked the button, got real busy and didn’t even know that the DNS switched until I got a text saying “where is the board”
I am totally taking your signature away however.
I am not an IT guy. I am a programmer. I can write a php script to launch a nuke, but I can not build or bring the server online that runs the program. I have only ever done two start to finish LAMP builds, and they were not very well tweaked.
In reality I am a sales/distribution professional, but I play a programmer on the internet.
Exceptions to every rule man.
Get your degree though, and watch the doors FLY open.
A hard working employee with a degree > A hard working employee
again though, that’s not the point of this thread. Yes you can do well without a degree, but HAVING A DEGREE OPENS MORE DOORS.
Just because there are a bunch of lazy people in your office, doesn’t mean shit.
^ Heh… I understand man. I’ve been a programmed long enough to know what happens when you get roped into doing IT stuff.
My plan is to have a better job in 17 years
My pops paid for my degree, and I hope to help my kids too.
(as does he)
Hes the one that had to join the navy, get the GI money, go to school, then end up in trade. He wanted better for me. Its paternal instinct to try and make it better for your kids. Unfortunately, not all parents have paternal instinct or any sort of vision beyond this months CC payment and available limits.
not to mention the fact that this would be a huge slap in the face to the people who did do the right thing and saved for their kid’s college education. they save $20k or whatever amount to contribute toward the bill and pay it out, meanwhile, another set of parents saved nothing, borrowed the whole amount, and gets the loans wiped out?
that would go well.
This thread is retarded.
People’s own irresponsible decisions are what put them in this boat, I have as little sympathy for them as I do for the foreclosure market.
If you have a ton of loans, you either barrowed irresponsibly, or went to a very expensive school with no assistance. Now why did you do that? Did you just go to a school because you wanted to without thinking how you were going to pay for it? Too fucking bad. It is simple, work hard, there are lots of options. Get a job, pay for it the old fashioned way. Get scholarships, hard work returns large dividends. Or how about this, go to a less expensive college, live at home, don’t go on spring break, don’t drive a nice car.
EVERY person that I talk to with huge gripes about their student loan issues has put themselves in that situation… or, they are working on paying them off.
The sense of entitlement is disgusting. If you don’t make any money, you can write of the interest. You can defer the loans. Why should you end up getting a free ride at the expense of people that actually paid for it? You shouldn’t.
Are there people that have to work harder to figure it out, or make sacrafices? Yes, but that is life. There are people that figure out how to do it all the time, and just because the vast majority of us are lazy and feel entitled, doesn’t mean that we should try and level the playing field.
for the record my opinion has changed and i agree this happening would be retarded but if they considered it i would at least feel like the people i vote for are at least taking a look at my interests because SOME of us under 25 do actually vote
Much more would be accomplished if businesses had the money to hire students but they are evil and their money should be taken away from them. Well I mean they are evil but you still need them to make a living. Ok Now I am done.
:word:
This is also why I didn’t vote for Obama, I knew this would happen
WAT
Obama didn’t propose, endorse, or acknowledge this. Just another blogger pipe dream. It’s not happening.
riiiiiiiiiiiggghhhttt. this was his idea. : sarcasm : :banghead:
(not supporting him, just saying…)
 baby! As much as I would accept this with open arms, I have no problem admitting its downright wrong. I do feel bad for those who did all the right things and at the end of the day, still cant find a job. But lets be honest, there are other options… its almost impossible for someone to just literally not be able to pay their loans… go work at BK until you find a proper job, do landscaping, work 70 hours a week and live in shack… you’ll eventually wind up on your feet.
Obviously hes not saying that… Its just the idea that this group has the nerve to even propose this based on the amount of downright unreasonable handouts that have been given… that is sickening.
or dead.
Or addicted to blow
All while obtaining a size 6 pooper…
if you die you dont have to pay back your student loans though. why do we bailout the dead? they don’t even work. Lazy fucks.
Ummm zombies are dead. They work.
You guys are so ignorant to the facts.
Yeah, with their hands. If they had formal education they could use their own brains and not keep trying to take other people’s.
