Do you have...

Okay. I have been searching for 5 days steady now. In all my free time to find information about something extremely simple.

I need to know the measurements on a 300zx N/A 5-speed transmissions input shaft. I need a measurement of the spline part (diameter) and the pilot bushing part (diameter)

A clutch alignment tool will work as well.

I would also like to know if anyone has ever swapped over a main drive shaft (inside transmission) Only the end piece though (the input shaft) Looks to me like it can be swapped over. Although I do not want to tear into my mint KA tranny too much if it will not work.

I am having an issue with getting the correct transmission. I finally have an RB20 transmission. Yet my father and myself sincerely believe that the input shaft on my current transmission (in the car now) is bigger. The input shaft on the RB tranny I just got measures exactly the same as KA and SR.

For the life of me I can NOT find the alignment tool for the 300zx N/A clutch.

If it comes down to it, I will slide my transmission out and measure. Hopefully it is the same, otherwise I’ll start breaking shit on my car for sure lol.

So my main question is;

Do you have a clutch alignment tool for a 300zx N/A 5-speed.

Or the measurements I mentioned above.

Bing, Roast and Gonad; If this is in the wrong section…move it. I don’t really find this technical at all. I also thought it would get more attention here.

To everyone else. I apologize for opening a stupid ass thread like this. Yet I need an answer, soon. Starting to pop out of gear now.

I forgot to mention. My transmission (in the car now) has RB 71C stamped on the side.

The RB transmission I got yesterday has RP 71C stamped on the side.

Anyone…at all?

No one has the alignment tool?

Do you like VTEC too?

i dunno if this would help, but the input shaft of the RB20 tranny and the KA/SR tranny should be the same measurements. this is because on KA-T.org, i read a few people running a RB20 twin plate clutch on the KA24DE with a KA tranny. or people even do RB flywheel, and 350z clutch setup on the KA tranny.

so im guessing all those input shafts should be the same measurements. hope this bit of info will help you out.

Why don’t you try some Z forums? Even TNC.

Contact Popcorn or Angie, you’re brampton crew knows howto contact them both. Peter, Chris, Ted…

I’ve read that too. Just, for whatever reason we remember the shaft being bigger.

Find out tonight…if I have the time.

Because I am tired of people telling me they ARE the same. I want measurements, pictures, or just a god damn alignment tool. lol

I have looked on Z forums.

Peter told me they are the same

The rest of them will do the same thing/

http://www.clutchtools.com ----- almost silly now dont cha think ?

and almost seems that almost all nissan have the same specs … whodathunkethmm

Wow…thanks Hector. To think. Clutchtools.com wow…

Anyways. It’s all said and done now. After piecing together a transmission to save myself money. I had to take it back out because an RB bell housing with a KA gear box prevails 2" inches too long. So I slammed the RB20 trans in it. 3 hours of non stop bullshit tonight. Swapping bell housings, sensors, seals, clutch forks, ball studs, throw out bearings etc etc etc

So yea, she’s good. Thanks again to TorontoJDM.

If anyone is wondering wtf happened to my tranny. Well. Third gear (of course) got hit REAL hard racing a 2JZ at cayuga. Took apart the tranny and found a HUGE chunk of aluminum. Ended up being part of the shifter fork!!!

Atleast I beat him…that race

Thanks everyone. Sorry for being a fuckin moron.

Knew you didn’t like VTEC, who was I kidding.

bahahaha
