Dodge Viper is DONE... came back... died again... back AGAIN

COUGH Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster COUGH

I have a building to put up first… but I have wanted one of those goofy Italian jobbies for a long time.

Lambo roadster in buffalo is like an LA 10 that is on the rag 29 days a month. Great choice, but move first.

I am not looking at it like you are. For me its a business thing. I need the car for R&D and to get my foot in the door of another market for the sake of upward diversity. I am not at all worried about the BS that goes along with the car really… and I do plan to eventually get out of Buffalo for much of the year, so its a default position regardless, ha. This place is too depressing, lol

Understandable. If you can get your big shooter Viper guys making a billion RWHP now to vouch for you I imagine there’s quite an untapped pool of cash on the Italian side.

Thats my feeling on it. There are waaaay too many people in the Italian market capitalizing on the inherent OEM problems rather than solving them from what I can see. I am too anal for that approach, and my specialty has always been unfucking manufacturer caused disasters. If I can revise the platforms, fix the issues, and bring a “perfect” big-power reliable package to market, it will sell. Those guys have the money… and I already deal with all of those top-tier manufacturers. Its almost a side-step from what I am building now.

I know of a Viper that you can write off as dead

i was texted that same pic this morning

Damn… looks like its local. I know three guys with silver Gen-3 SRT’s… one has aftermarket wheels so it isn’t him, the other two are Brandon and another guy who I haven’t met directly.

Any idea on who the owner is?

the location of the accident is southwesten and camp rd in hamburg. my buddy at west herr chevy sent me some pics of it.

I bet it was the third guy I havent met directly. I know he goes to a gym over there near that intersection…

Doesn’t underground racing kind of have the big HP exotic market on lockdown already? Not to say you shouldn’t venture that way but I feel like it would be tough with them already doing it.

I’ve also seen underground TT lambos have a nasty habit of spinning out at high speeds. If Final can make a safer vehicle with the same power levels at a competitive price I don’t think he’d have a problem competing.

The exotic market is all about skill and customer service. UGR makes a good product, but they are more “cookie cutter” these days than anything. I have worked with them in the past, and even introduced them to some of the technology they now use in those TT Gallardos.

In short, no, I am not worried about competing with them in the least. I design all of my own engine parts and systems, I do all of my own tuning, I do all of my own own engine building, and I do all of my own fabrication. UGR no longer does any of that, it is all subbed out. Their success has opened a door for a more specific niche, and I have experience with parts and processes that to the best of my knowledge they dont use. There is room for both of us.

Not to mention, I am closer to NYC and Toronto, both of which are loaded with exotics. Regular service and solving inherent problems with the cars is also paramount.

probably more money and an all around better business in the general maintenance / repairs / light tuning stuff for those types of cars anyway, no?

also, saw the new viper pics the other day. shit’s rad.

Yes, and no. Every market has its quirks. The Viper market was great, but it is on the decline for many tuners. The market is sliding into cheaper territory, and all kinds of people and shops who shouldnt be allowed near cars in general let alone Vipers are getting their hands on them now, and the dime-a-dozen shit work is right around the corner I am sure. Luckily I deal in the extreme high-end, so my customer base is actually growing, as more die-hard guys become disgusted with the direction that some other parts of the market are heading. In reality, an internet shopping tire kicker isn’t going to call me about a $75,000+ package. Hopefully, the new Viper will pull the market back and stabilize it.

That being said, my current crop of parts, products, and ability is easier to sell in more expensive markets… hence, the climb up the ladder into the super-exotics. Those customers however, do have other expectations and quirks that I need to prepare for, and that’s what I am working on now.

If you can do it I say get into the exotics. It would be quite an awesome market to be in I’d imagine.

Another color in non-glamour shots

Not a fan of the LEDs or that color

That hood/bumper/sill gap is HORRIBLE. All to appease the clamshell hood cry-babies. Reminds me of that stupid “belt” that many cars had in the 80’s/90’s.

And man, do those front wheels look small! This car should have been 19/20, not 18/19. Talk about behind the times.

Way to go SRT… fix some big things, and create new problems in the process.

Are the mirrors built into the hood? Then the hood rocks forward?

Address those problems with custom aftermarket parts. Profit?
