Meh I like the Viper, it certainly is a preferred alternative to the corvette, which is a piece of junk IMO, both are unnecessary and overpriced but still, i’d rather the viper stick around. Glad that article is outdated.

The obvious argument for killing the halo car is that money spent on developing the next-generation Viper could go towards better interiors

what a sad time in history when the auto industry is highly affected by retards that make up statements such as this.

when i was in Detroit this summer taking a tour of the Conner ave plant, they said that there were no set plans to stop the Viper project and that was after those initial posted articles were published.

the other is just speculation.

could it be dead? sure. is it for sure? no.

it was only meant as a 5 year project initially.

i would be sad to see it go. its just too cool of a car.

NEWS FLASH!!! just because cars have equal horsepower doesn’t mean they are the same speed!!! The vette will out perform the SRT8 on every performance level. Seriously…not close.

Base vette price 49k (and you would never pay that)
SRT8 price (just priced it out) 44k and you would pay every penny.
Passat CC VR6 4motion -40k to start before adding any options and I don’t even know why it’s being mentioned in the same sentence as the other two. Not in the same class. Very slow in comparison.

I love the SRT8, but the main reason why I would never buy an SRT8 is because I know I can get a vette for the same price. I don’t think the Vette is overpriced at all, but it’s either underpriced or the SRT8 is overpriced.

Funny thing though…Back when I sold my vette, the guy who bought it was from detroit and on the Viper design team. When I asked him why he didn’t buy a viper, he said because it wasn’t a great street car and the vette was much more comfortable and usable on the street. How true that is, I dunno, but I thought it was funny. Given the choice between a new Z06 and viper…I don’t know what id pick. ZR1 would be an easy decision

ugo, its PROTEGE driving ZAMBONI DRIVER now lol, and i’m just stating my personal preference, got nothing against Vette enthusiasts, and to me, they are overpriced because its a lot of money for a lot of things I don’t like that much, hey if its worth 50K to you, then awesome, you got a fast car that you like for a not that bad price considering it’s performance, I am talking from my own point of view entirely and mean no offense to those who feel otherwise

as for everyone else, just threw the CC in there because I am a sucker for VWs

and in conclusion, I hope the viper sticks around cuz I like it and because the Viper vs. Vette arguement is twice as hated as something like Mac vs. PC and therefore twice as entertaining
