Dodge Viper is DONE... came back... died again... back AGAIN

guaranteed to look like shit.

yeah right^

sarcasm?

The original viper was raw and everything was purposeful. The replacement was plastic and had too many ornaments for my taste. I’m sure the next one will continue down that path… too much chrome, trinkets, vents, plastic… all with the same engine/chassis setup they’ve been doing since the start.

Wat? If I had to drop $80,000+ on a new viper, you better bet your ass it is loaded to the gills with to many trinkets and gadgets. I wouldn’t want a 1995 dodge neon basic interior.

the original didn’t have windows… and I’d take that any day over the newer shit. mostly because I’m not a woman.

Same

as well as no real functional roof.

My good friend Mike has an early '93, no windows, no outside door handles, shitty excuse for a roof, etc…

I appreciate how raw that car is.

So, what do we know about the 2013 Viper as of right now? For starters, traction control will be used for the first time in the model’s history as mandated by federal law. The powertrain is still unconfirmed, although there are rumors that the V10 could get a bump in displacement to an incredible 8.7 liters.

I think it looks mean if it looks anything like that crappy picture lol

This. I’d much rather own a ‘pure’ vehicle as opposed to some of this new b.s.

Save the trinkets for your daily.

2013 SRT Viper Drops Dodge Name

The SRT brand has announced it is re-opening the Viper’s Conner Avenue production facility, and along the way confirmed it won’t be a Dodge, but an SRT.

The name change makes perfect sense given SRT’s repositioning as a standalone brand, and is in that sense completely unsurprising. At the same time, it gives us hope that the Viper, while already documented to include more safety-oriented driver aids and creature comforts, will continue to be a serious, performance-focused driver’s car without the dilution of more practical, mundane concerns that might be introduced if it were not under the sole dominion of the boutique brand.

Announcements about the plant’s re-opening have re-stimulated the idea that the new Viper might be making its auto show debut in Detroit rather than waiting for New York, but whichever show it comes to, we’ll have to wait until “late 2012” to see the car on the street, according to Ralph Gilles, president and CEO of SRT Brand.

lol… it looks… exactly like the old viper

My thoughts too.

agreed… what gives?

Could be a test mule.

maybe it is just an interim car based of the old design to generate some sales before launching a new one?

i can see a US automaker doing something like this.

the front looks slightly changed

Yeah front end looks a little different. I wouldn’t care if they made any visual changes, always loved its design.

My dick is wayyy too big to drive one of these. I guess I’ll buy the SRT-10 Ram…
