does an SAFC work on 3.0 SHO motors ?

curious due to another friends project :snky:

the safc in question is this style:

donno if its any different (besides the outward style) then the later knob / joystick style

no they should not work…ford computers are equipped with adaptive learning…basically the car will strive for a perfect 14.64 air fuel ratio at ANY cost. the safc will fork for maybe 5 mins before the computer catches up and writes over your adjustments. do the programable wideband trick.

alrighty, i have a different trick up my sleave ill attempt to use for this setup …

Honestly, the two best routes.

Tweecer: (What somedude is using)

$300, $500 if you want real-time feedback via laptop

-Requires a computer, laptop is nice but not necessary.
-Full control of ECU fuel tables, and everything from shift points, to tranny line pressure, secondary activation, and just about anything you would ever need to touch, and lot you would never need to.

Custom burned chip (Aka. LPM)

-Again full ECU control, but it has to be sent in to be burned.
-Bit cheaper

SAFC will not work for the most part. As the computer will learn the changes. Which is general accross all ford EEC-IV fuel systems, ddrop tried that on his probe with no luck.

guess that settles it

02 sensor hack ftw

so that engine will definately be boosted? definately no NA love?

boost >

but at first it will be n/a

might be converted to twin throttle bodies for the fun of it

o shit i thought this WAS for somedude’s setup…now i know what itsw for lol.

you can swap them to twin Tb’s actually, the only concern with twin turbo’s and twin TB’s is the maf. not a huge deal though.

this is going to be a fun project…
