Does anyone have a scan tool I can borrow?

I need to check some codes on my 93 volvo. Ive called around and cant find any places that have any obd1 tools or obd2’s with adapters. Ill give you $$, blumpkins, beer, whatever you want. I just need this fucking tool.

Thanks!

To add a little more to this, I have a 93 850. Coming home from work one day after filling up the tank, the car is having a really hard time winding out. And by that, I mean it was sputtering/wanting to stall. I turn on my road, give it some gas and POOF! A huge cloud of bluish/greyish smoke comes out out the back. It wasnt even just a cloud, it looked like I just did a burn out in a top fuel dragster. When I first got it, it sputtered and would be unresponsive, but only every once in a while.

Any ideas?

You check advanced auto or autozone? They should be able to pull the codes for free.

Yeah, I called every AZ and advanced in the general area. None of them carry obd1 scanners.

look up athol motor car in the phone book it on readign street in south buffalo my cousin works there as head mechanic they got one ask for bob

Sweet. Will they rent it out? The car is not driveable right now…

I thought on OBD1 it was just a matter of jumpering a couple of pins and the CEL would flash the code?

Chris you should go to Pep boys or one of those stores, and just browse the Hanes Manuals and see if they have one for your car, then lookup how to run the CEL tests with a paperclip or whatever.

I doubt someone you don’t know will let you take there $$$$$$ OBD-I tester.

Yeah, I was right, you don’t need a scanner.

So what was wrong?

im not doing this tonight. the car is in my other drive way and its raining. ill know by either tomorrow or thursday.

Pulled them today. It has 3 codes:

121= Maf sensor
113= Heated o2 sensor-max enrichment (It says this is only only on 94+ cars :gotme:)
221= Heated o2 sensor

Hopefully this is all thats wrong with it. I dont want to have to drive the fbod in the winter :tdown:
