WIll it be ok???
My Alt charging line going from the back of the ALT, to the starter, then back to the Battery in the trunk.
Meaning the line isnt going directly from the ALT to the battery, going to the starter and then sharing the main line for the starter and ALT recharge?
Is the cable from the alternator to the starter of equal or greater gauge than the wire from the starter to the battery? The only thing I would be concerned with is the amperage that will be going across the starter solenoid. But I don’t think that would make too much of a difference. Is it possible to extend the wire from the battery and make it connect to the back of the alternator directly?
same 2 guage,
sure its possible just have to run a seperate line I am just wondering seems like the ALT might not be charging the battery and both test out good.
Check the voltage at the battery, the starter terminal, and at the alternator and see if its pretty much the same. You might have some resistance in the cable somewhere a long it’s path. Just a thought.
14v at the battery, and 14 at the alt, while running, so I would assume it is charging.
It should definitely be charging if you see 14v at the battery. Does it maintain that voltage under a heavy load? Has the battery been drained and recharged many times? What makes you think it’s not charging?
if I turn on the lights, the dim a bit then stabilize again, and when I get in seems to little juice in the battery for start up.
that is just fine to wire it like that. You wont be droping any ampherage across the starter seloniod. It just connectos there. What is the problem? did the plugs get it running? Did you run it long enough to fully charge the battery back up from all the spark test cranking?
Stupid plugs!!!, Around the block a couple times, but the next battery was dead, something still draining it.
What did you get for plugs? I did a bit of research just to make sure, but you should definately not be running any hotter than stock plugs for a blower. I couldn’t figure why RCS would do that. He’s also probably got you tune horrible rich to fend of detonation with those hot ass plugs. That likely what fouled them out. Even though they where hotter you didn’t have you shit up to temp. If you need a hand finding your battery drain, give me a call after this weekend. Pinks is taking all my time up till then.
awesome, ya what would be a colder plug then the ar12’s, ill give you a call.
