I should have just listened to people, but no lol… I figured hey maybe if someone else said the kit was good it would be? Nope complete fuckin opposite! I bought a turbo kit off of ebay for my 95 s14 from CXRacing, they specified that it was for a 91-98 Ka24de. BS Fuckin manifold had to be refabbed so the downpipe wouldnt hit the brake master cylinder, they said ohh we never had issues like that before… well now you do.
So after taking it to a shop to get that sorted out as well as a new 3" Exhaust which took about 3 days because they were a little busy… I got the car up and running and god damn was it fast! I figured my problems with the kit were over. So this weekend I decided hey lets go for a cruise on the highway to the reserve which is about 1 hour drive from my house.
On my way back I could hear exhaust coming from inside the engine bay so I thought to myself oh shit, the wastegate bolts are probably lose? Better get home quick, 2 minutes later it started to get louder then all I heard was TING, oh fuck… Pull over and the fucking weld broke off at the wastegate… So now it is going to cost me even more to fix this stupid problem and I shoulda just saved for my fuckin rb25 the swap probably would of cost me just as much or a little bit more and I wouldnt have problems with stupid shit manifolds…
So i've contacted the supplier saying I would of let the first manifold problem go but this is just retarted, and I expect they want to keep customers satisfied and expect they want to reimburse me... So I am just waiting on it now, its been 2 and a half weeks without my ride and I think I might just buy a plane ticket to California to dropkick some people.
For a KA-T, you should have pieced out your kit. That way you buy what you like and it’s customized for your needs. Thats what I did and I am happy with it. There are a few kits available on the market that look nice but you gotta pay the price for it. I am thinking about Greddy kit, IAP turbo kits, etc. I prefer a good old fashion piece out kit but thats just me. Sorry to hear about your bad experience, I hope it will help other see that ebay kits are not the right way to go. Piping, couplers, ic and even manifolds (bottom mount) can be ok but the turbo’s… no way.
