I’m guessing something is wrong with all these turbo setups i see on ebay…anyone know anything about them?
Also…if i get a 14b turbo from an obd1 eclipse and injectors from the same car…where can i get a chipped obd1 ecu and get it tuned and get a jumper harness (i have a 99 civic ex)?
Would i be able to go to an exhaust shop and have them bend i/c piping for me (theres a shop in bridgeville which is right down the road from me, i heard they would do it)?
And i’m not posting this for ppl to make fun of me, i’m just asking a question
in my industry, (not turbos, but i am sure its the same). all the “B” stock and overstocked items get sold on FEEbay, a key thought to keep in mind is warrenty, and the fact that the seller IS making money or else they wouldnt be selling it for whatever they are selling it for. That being said, if an item is being sold for 300 when it typically is 900 then there is obviously something going on there and a reason as to why they are selling so cheap.
Totally agreed, spend the little extra money for the good stuff, that way you wont be kickin your self in the ass later for spending what money you did spend on the junk shit. But do your research, there are a lot of very expensive companies out there that offer the same products as cheaper companies for ALOT more.
I’ve heard of mixed success with the ebay kits. if you have the option with running the 14b… do it. get everything you need from that DSM, gather all your other parts and get ready for fun. i’m sure a muffler shop would bend the pipe for you, but they would have to have the car and charge hourly. see if you can find a do-it-yourself kit on ebay or piping somebody already bent for the same application, or close so you only have to change few parts. PM sent on tuning and chiping.
i would agree with the 14b and hf manny… if you aren’t looking to spend big money on a turbo. i can’t say for anyone else, but my turbo alone cost me $1100 and that was a decent price for the turbo i am running. the OEM stuff was built to last so even if it has a few miles on it, you will get more out of it for your money than the no name turbos.
