DP Tuner

I just installed a DP-Tuner in my 2000 F350 - 7.3L CC LB, 9" lift, 39.5 IROKS (summer), 37" TSL (winter )

Install of the tuner consisted of -
Removing PCM plug from PCM through engine compartment.
Removing PCM from under steering column
Disassembling PCM box
Cleaning off silicone.
Clipping on the chip.
Duct taping chip for security
Reassemble PCM
Reinstall PCM
Route cable to tuner.

Done.

I also installed a boost annihilator to “correct” MAP pressure readings
Steps -
Remove electrical connection from MAP
Remove pressure line from MAP
Remove pressure line from manifold
Place factory hose clamps onto new hoses
Loosen MAP and put the BA inbetween MAP and bracket
Tighten those 2 screws
Route new hoses to MAP and manifold
Reconnect electrical.

Done.

Then I put a pre-runner bar on the front.
Remove 4 bumper bolts
Remove bumper
Zip tie the prerunner bar to bumper
Try to hold up the bumper, the bar, and screw in the bumper bolts
30 minutes later you have one bolt started
Go to the other side and start those…
Now put the 2nd on in the first side, but lift the bumper as high as it will go
Now loosen the other side and lift that as high as it will go too
Tighten everything
Wonder why you haven’t bought fog lights for it yet

Then go for a testdrive in 4" of snow…

BTW - All of the above was done in last nights blizzard… my truck won’t fit in my garage. I brought the PCM into the garage to work on the bench… but it snows in there… the birds ripped all ofthe weather seal out of the ridge vent… lol

As far as the tuner goes. Wow. This is the shit-eatin-grin everyone has been talking about. My current tunes are :
Improved stock
60 tow
80 econo
120 race
140 extreme

Simply amazing. I highly recommend DP Tuner to everyone. My truck went from a complete slug… to “quick”. Jody (DP-Tuners owner) also modified my shift points for each tune. Tow holds gears longer, econo shifts nice and low in the RPM range. Race and Extreme are just amazing. This truck sings. Even with the big tires on it, I can spin them from a roll. Of course there is salt on the road, but this was at like 30mph. If I was running my little winter tires… I could smoke all 4 I think. Next will be a BTS valve body… and maybe an intake. 140 extreme also adds a lot of fuel, so I look like a freight train going down the road. From a stop, dry road, 20’ smoker w/o brake boosting.

Pics up when the weather clears

Sounds nice!Programmers do a lot for turbo diesels…

I had a 6gun on my cummins ram and it deffintly pulled a lot better top end…but low end wasn’t the greatest.

I then bought a smarty programer which greatly increses fuel in low boost situations for awesome low end power(and a TON of smoke)
Stock my truck ran a 8.7 0-60 with a boosted launch and with the smarty turned on #9 and banks on 3 (out of six) I ran a 0-60 time of 6.2 in 4x4.
in 2 wheel I would just roast the one wheel off untill i let of the gas (no lsd)

I’m assuming you are subscribed to diesel power? if not I suggest you should, a TON of good info. They are a bit biased to the cummins engine… but they are getting more into the powerstrokes and duramaxs over the years.

duramax is still better :stuck_out_tongue:

I want to see this thing sometime.

I’m around… and when you see me, you’ll know
