Thanks broski. :thumbup
Going through the pics and wasn’t reading the thread and I was like OH FUCK MAN HIS FRAME IS BENT TO SHIT. Glad to see I wasn’t the only one to pick up on it ahahaha. Thing was fucking tweaked. Looks like good work!!!
Yeah at one point when he had only the frame on the floor, the pass side rear was on the ground and I could fit my cell phone standing up under the rail on the drivers side rear! lol thats why we only kept 3 feet of it original!
KK doin work.
Basic frame finished. front end mocked back up and laid out. Notice the camber in the front, or better yet lack there of. This thing will go LOOOOW and keep the geometry nicely.
And here is an idea of what we are after. Like we said it will lay door. :thumbup
You should stretch the frame out while you’re at it. Make a 16’ bed :lol
agree
Put a flat bed on it and beef the suspension/frame/motor and make it so you can roll a car on the back while it’s laying door. Than raise it up to drive it, it will be the perfect lowered car tow rig
That pooor 2.5l wouldnt like an extra 3Klbs+ to push around! lol and with the 16 foot bed, deal… the next project might be a king cab long bed fullsized cheby or something massive laid out. they look redic going down the road like that!
we need to bag an 80’s van next. I think pedobear agrees with that
Yeah cause its hard for little kids to step that high up into the back of it! :thumbup
looking good ill be up saturday depending on what time i get back for the city or sunday to help out
all i see is pedo bear chillen by the door :rofl… ive been lookin for a short bus for awhile to bag
front steering rack clearance. Also welded in the front cups. they will be ground smooth and plasma cut a nice window on the top for bolt and air line access for the bags.
Bridge pieces were plasma cut out of a 3/16" sheet. 11" tall notch. With the frame laid out there is 3 inches of clearance over the top of the axle, so side to side will have lots of room, and when its laying frame if you hit a bump your axle wont slame into the notch.
Picture doesnt do the welds justice, The entire notch is stacked dimes. this was just one of them, and isnt the best ones I did.
We didnt get pictures yet, but late last night we welded in the two 1-1/2" dia 1/4 wall tubes for the upper notch bridge. Cut out the frame between the notches and put the rear end under it. Shit looks good.
Pics updated click the link
Frame looks really good man, I need to get back on mine.
Chassis is done.
Still need to cut out some cover plates for all the ends of the box steel and tube ends to weld in flush and grind smooth. that can be dont when we strip the chassis back down to flip and weld the bottom and prep for paint.
Floor is cut out
Body is laid over the frame.
Here is a shot at the rocker so far. Now keep in mind we are cutting out 3+ inches of that rocker right flush with the bottom of the door!
Needs more low. Rockers will be cut, boxed in for floor structure, and the bottoms plated with 3/16’s for skid protection. As it sits now, the front fenders tuck the center hub cap on the shop wheels! With the rest of the body drop, We think it will tuck front lug nuts, and maybe axle hub in the rear!
Ohh yeah, hood, is gunna need some work! lol
siiiiiick…can’t wait to see more pics of this
damn.
this bitch better lay door, fuck rocker!!!
not gonna lie… kinda wanna do this to my ranger now :lol
