How much have you spent on your car, car payments just to daily drive it and take scenic pictures? I am willing to bet I have spent less money competitively wheel to wheel racing than your car has depreciated since new.
Can you seriously get tires that cheap at Fox? Do they do cheap mounting? The only thing is that the tires I’m currently running on the GP would be one of its stengths. Shame they were $650. Putting shitty used tires on might really detract from its abilities.

I pay good money for my used car, but it gets me to work where I make a shitload more than I spend. Getting to and from work, gym, grocery store, are necessities for my life. New tires, brakes, safety equipment every season on top of track fees and hotel stays for a recreational activity is a costly venture for some. I’m not trying to knock it either. I am just saying that you are making it sound like it doesn’t cost hardly anything. Maybe to go out one time it’s cheap, but as a repeating activity, it’s expensive.
No, I’m not, your lifestyle choice is that you would rather have a nice DD than drive a car on track or in a race environment. You could still have the same reliable transportation in a cheaper DD and have money left over.
My lifestyle choice is that I would rather spend more money racing than I would on A to B transportation (I still have that same G20). For me cars is about driving, not cruises, not picnics, not photo shoots, not meets, not owning the cleanest, rarest, swapiest. The ultimate form of driving is racing against other cars (or trees). Why more self proclaimed car enthusiast don’t make it to at the very least a track day beyond me.
IMO nice DDs are a waste of money, racing is also a waste of money. If I were smart I would take up tennis.

The Sept 10th event is a classroom, driver education type event, not sure how your insurance views it though.
The car is #27. I can’t say that it will be a great event to watch as there are only 20 total cars.
