if you’re going to do 90 -> 81 as part of it then make sure you use 690 in the middle… that’s a nice little shortcut.
either way its a hell of alot easier to take 17 down and park your car on staten island and take the ferry in. I do it every year with no problem.
I timed it once (in an effort to see if I could do the trip in 4:30), and it turns out to only be a couple of minutes difference at most, which can be made up by the fact that 690 can have fair grounds traffic which fucks you.
becareful if you cut thru NJ as I remember there being a ton of state troopers
not to cut in on this thread but im going to Long Island to pick up my car thursday , what would be the fastest route…i didnt know it was 35 dollars of tolls to take the 90
actually nvm it has me taking 390,86,17,81s, and then a bunch of other random numbers

does your GPS have an option to not include toll roads when calculating a route? I know mine does.
This is my favorite route. Take it! DO ITTTT. It’s so much better than the 90.
I got nabbed for doing 88 on 17 though, so be careful, even through the twisty parts.

i wish, the quickest flight i could find was 3 hours and 40 minutes into the airport i have to fly to

I wanted to fly but its way cheaper to rent a car for me and my wife, its a last minute thing. Her friend from college is graduating law school and her parents are throwing her a party at some restaurant. Should be a good weekend.
