^ Joe’s route is pretty good, except I never take that shortcut at batavia. Way too many times getting stuck behind miles of traffic you can’t pass going 50 mph. It’s longer to take the 90 to the 390 but 99 times out of 100 it’s faster.

Watch your speed on the 90 though, cops up and down looking for speeders.

I’ve been known to pass on a double yellow on 63 if it’s only one guy
There’s nothing but fields all around so it’s difficult for cops to hide.

Thank you captain obvious. The rule applies for all of NY.

You’d think it’d be that obvious but I saw em lined up and down the 90 last night with people pulled over.

When going to Hamptons to see wife’s family we always take 90 to 87 to 95 I believe… going across Tappan Zee and Throgs Neck.

When we went to NYC and stayed in the hotel right next to FDR drive walking distance to Battery Park.

Can remember the exact way we too… 90 to 87 and from there kind of hazy for me.

Joe’s route is nice but the GW Bridge can be hell during rush hour.

Well I’ll be driving over night so I’m not to worried about traffic. And I have my v1

then do Joe’s route…

i do the same thing… cut thru batavia, 63, 36, 390, 17 to bing, then 81S to the 380, then 80 thru jersey, depending on time of day and traffic, i’ll choose to keep going thru to the geo wash bridge, then fdr or west side highway OR while on the 80, get off at 46 to 3 to the lincoln tunnel… it’s the least amount of tolls too, if you care about that stuff

edit: i like to avoid 17 as much as possible, too many cops and it’s just really boring to drive on. i remember there being a traffic light in the middle of the highway (horseheads?) but, last time i drove to buff, it wasn’t there anymore…

The way Joe goes is the same way I go, except I’m in Rochester so I just jump 390 south.

i’ve done 90 to 690 to 17 all the way to 87… i think all the upstaters (yonkers, rockland county) use this route…

that looks good to me thx Joe, i see it says 7 hours. it should take more like 6 1/2 maybe a little less right i wont be in any traffic till i get to NYC

I take 86 when I go and if you’re going over night you can fuck the speed limit in the really rural parts, there’s not a soul for miles. I made it to NY in 3.5 hours.

I took 90 —> 81 —> 380/84 —> 80 (NJ Turnpike)… Made it to Queens, NY in just over 6 hours at 65mph the entire way.

:bsflag: from where? buffalo? you did 400+ miles in 210 minutes? you averaged over 100mph the entire time through?

I always used this route, but I was heading out to LI, not Manhattan

his loaction says rochester so thats about right
