+1 this is the way i go to manhatten(times sq area) it kinda depends whast part of the city you are going to. if you are going north of the city (ex. westchester) 90-81-17 is faster
I forgot, this is a bad time of year for deer, maybe you shouldn’t take 86. If you do, don’t fuck the speed limit, I’m sure hitting a deer at 100+ will mean sure death.

If you decide to Joe’s route, don’t take 20a. From living in Corning and Buffalo and driving back and forth about 5 times a month, I have the timing down to a science.
20a only saves you time if it is VERY busy on the 90. Taking the 90 to the 390 saves you about 15 minutes and gas mileage because your speed isn’t fluctuating with speed zones and elevation changes.
Edit- Oh and it is a much easier drive.
Depending on what time you take, going over the GWB is going to be a HUGE BITCH. I recommend not going through PA and NJ.

imo, if you’re going to manhattan, lincoln tunnel will be the easiest, especially if you’re driving late at night, and i’m assuming this is your first time driving down there
what’s wrong with going throuh PA & NJ? it’s scenic and you can get cheap gas at NJ before you cross over… HUGE PLUS… don’t expect to find gas stations in manhattan
