i think they got one of them sittin over at the wexford VW dealer, the interior of the evo is what actually made my bro decide to get an is300 instead…he isnt into the speed that much and the is300 is a much “nicer” car

anyone that would choose an IS300 over an EVO, just because of the interior, doesnt deserve an evo anyways.
it wasnt just cause of the interior, its the over all car, he likes the looks of the is300 inside and out better than the evo
that is definately a badass VW. Going by the stats on that link though, an EVO will have about a second and a half on the VW in the 1/4 mile, and the automotive press has pretty much marked the EVO gods gift to road racers… Too bad they couldnt have made it closer to 300hp, and we’ll see how that drivetrain holds up to abuse. Either way a sweet alternative to the Japaneese thing.

true. You would also be close enough to be in the range of used E46 M3’s and C5’s and some other badass machines. Hell for 30K you could get a farily low mileage NSX.

granted i could probably get a slew of different cars for the money but the fact of the matter comes down to is that VW’s are something i love and I am comfortable in. I don’t want something used either… something that i have consistent payments and thats it…
The AWD, the 3.2l VR6 engine is quite quick for the car. the car handles great and stops on a dime. has nice things like power windows and locks and even climate control.
these are the features i would like in a car that i have to pay every month thats why i am looking at R32’s.

VW people are VW people… true VW fanatics wouldn’t even consider an Evo when looking at a new car… Anyone I’ve ever known who was a real VW fan never bought anything other than a VW (or Audi) after they fell in love with the marque.
So while there might be better performing cars for the cash, it doesn’t really matter. VW people are as fanatic about their marque as Mac people are about their computers.
yeah… i mean i’d rock one… just an excuse to spend a whole bunch of money modding it.
the r32 WAS NOT produced for speed… and it wasn’t even produced for competition with the evo/sti.
it was produced because the golf rocks and needed a new twist, so they gave it a decent v6 and all wheel drive. it’s not like any of you guys like my car anyway… so what would make you think you’d like this one? :dunno:
i say get it… whitey doesn’t hit keystone nearly as much as he hits beaver / autox… and i think this would be a decent move for him…
all im saying, is that is a very, very expensive hatchback.
