Drove the car in the rain today...

first time in the rain in 1 year… and last year it only seen 3-4 rainy days…

and i learned something… i have VERY little traction. the car will spin tire easily and its kinda fun to easily drift/slide around. it surprised me at first… i dont remember it being so easy to spin tire in the rain. i guess after a year of not drivin in rain it will do that to yah. i was only doing like 3/4 throttle in second tryin to pass a truck, and the car was spinning good. 45mph downshift in second at WOT will start the car sideways.

but a few hours later the sun came out and dried everything up… and made my black car look like pooop.:frowning: i keep my car clean and thats one reason i never drive in the rain as it makes it look like salt and pepper. LOL

Mullet Mobile No care.

haha my mullet mobile is prime example of mullet mobile

you prolly have one of them super dooper 350’s

350 > Three Oh Poooooooo

EFI > Carb

yep top of the line L98 350 irocz… only thing better is the TTA, and the 1LE edition factory SCCA race cars for the street. LOL i love this car.

I can’t disagree with that.

wait wait wait.

so you’re saying you gent no traction with a RWD v8 in the rain… something has to be up, cause i can swear you’re joking.

so where exactly does that put you on the mullet factor

shoulder length

so youre saying if you went out and did doughnuts in the rain you would then have chest lenght? also if you made it to shoulder lenght you must then have the rear louvers

haha no no no… what i mean is that the car feels absolutely on ice when it never felt like that before in the rain… but i guess its cuz i havent driven in the rain in SO long that i forgot that its like that. but i have a good memory and thats why it was dissappointing. i was actually upset that my tires werent grippin the wet road as good as what i remembered them doing. and i still have plenty of tread left. handlin is still somewhat ok in the rain tho.

nope, no rear louvers… those things are :greddy: and no, donuts in the rain is not a mullet increase… you gotta do that badass burnout/donut in the dry…shows the true horsepower… anyone can spin in the wet

yea i forgot Tune ports had so much power

Well looking at his 1/4 mile times it looks like he has a good running car. Also the L98 has a ton of Tq…if I remember in 1989 the L98 had 240 HP and 335 tq and in 1990 they upped it to 250 hp and 350 tq. So when driving it,the tq makes them feel like pretty fast.

Horsepower sells cars, Torque wins races :booty:

they are beasts man! lol…well not really but they are low end power monsters. first gear with the right rear end gear will hang with any F body made. its a blast. but after that 0-30mph sprint, lack of hp/topend will show itself.

rated at 240-245, they dyno 220 whp so its slightly underated if you assume 15% loss from auto trans. but the torque is what makes these motors so good. so much bottom end. TPI is torque. runners are longer than my arms lol

thanks, and actually, its one of the better running L98’s out there with the mods i have done. havent seen a whole lot of guys running 100mph traps and high 13’s with just headers/catback/airbox mod as the power mods. usually they take more bolt ons
