so this year i drove the vette about 1500-2000 miles. took it on a few road trips. everytime i drive it and its nice out, i want to romp on it. but its almost pointless because of the lack of traction. the TC and active handling will rob all power until i hook. i could put it in comp mode but ill still spin.
so basicly what im asking, will radials make that much of a difference? i have read that they do, just thought i would ask all of u. im just kinda sick of the lack of traction.
basicly im asking if its worth the trade offs of tread wear and wet traction. cuz if u all dont know, i will drive this on trips and i do get caught in the rain.
Like he said… since they are not ment to turn, i would lean towards they blow in turns… but yeah will hook better in a straight line.
What do you have on there now? What compound/tread wear rating?
What about suspension setup? I dont know dick about a vette, but suspension setup and weight transfer, etc. can make shitty tires stick in all forms of motor vehicle activities.
i dunno bout on a FWD POS, but my Nittos are awesome in the corners. They stick 100% better than the sumihomos that were on there on the straights too. I don’t like the idea of driving with them in the rain though.
Mickey Thompson’s are awesome until there is any moisture on the road. At that point kiss your ass good bye as the car will skate across the road. The nittos are probably more driver friendly. I wouldn’t waste your money since you dont drive the car ever
u know i knew this was comming from u and almost put it in the OE post but i didnt.
i dont drive it a lot. i take it on mini vacation tripss when i go. its not something i like to rack miles on. when i do drive it, i drive it. ill sit at a light and SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSmokkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkeeeeeeeeee um. its fun. but scary sometimes when u are on the highway with the TC going off.
Buy the MT drag radials, they hook the best. Who cares about this stuck in the rain shit, you shouldn’t be driving it in the rain anyway, and if you get stuck out somewhere in the rain I’m sure you can drive slow
