DSL vs POWERLINK

dsl, without a landline phone

I’m getting a little confused from this thread. I just moved into a place in West Seneca that is near a hub for DSL at Southgate Plaza.

I want to be able to download some stuff but mostly will be using it to play WoW and CS. I will also have to get cable anyways. Plus my roommate will want a connection also.

What should I get for these needs powerlink or DSL? And are the costs closely related?

DSL is cheaper, cable is faster.

your choice

werd… dsl is cheeper, cable = faster

all depends on what you want to do. I have the faster DSL connection only because I run 2 computers at the moment. If I only had one, I’d honestly get the slower one as it fit my needs just fine. I can get a movie d/led in around an hour. Then again, I’m used to dial up so my views are gonne be different from someone who uses cable. Then again, MOST websites I d/l from never give me d/l speeds over 150kbps anyway soooooo…

BTW, slow DSL 100kbps is 15.00 a month… the faster one (200K) is 30.00 m/o

Got powerlink in lancaster here, no problems so far. Btw, adelphia has a low-end “basic” 24.95 plan for 256k dn & up if all they do is surf/use mail.

I’ve had both powerlink and dsl. i had powerlink, then went to dsl to try it out, didn’t like it, now I’m back with powerlink. I wish Time Warner would take over Adelphia so that we could get Roadrunner! My aunt and uncle have RR in Rochester and pay a little less than we do for Powerlink and there internet is faster …

What a concidence.

I don’t see prices dropping 1 cent when the name finally changes. It’s been said before, it’s going to be strictly a name change… and who knows… probably higher prices.

I used to have Powerlink in NT… never had a huge problem with it. Went down a few times but it was usually storming out. Once it wasn’t but there was problems somewhere that was related to my connection… no problem… they credited my account.
