I think powerlink would be easier, because it’s all on one bill. I had powerlink and Adelphia cable, and I was never let down. The only time my service went down was when there was a really bad storm about 2 years ago and the power was knocked out all over Western NY.
You don’t have any issues with Powerlink at around 7pm every evening?? It is slow as balls at that time of night.
I just signed up for DSL. I had DSL before and liked it much better than Powerlink.
In most cases, Powerlink is DEFINATELY better than DSL.
But in other parts of the world, or country, there are other options besides these two.
FIOS is fiber optic, offering RETARDED fast speeds, like 35Mbps down and 15 up lol

speaking of which, I remember reading not long ago that verizon was going to offer naked DSL soon, then shortly after reading something about them deciding to call it quits.
When I was checking out my new place, the lady told me that I could get naked DSL thru verizon there… wierd.
Adelphia is beta testing 1 16Mb connection in virginia i forgot where but it will be 60 a month
i just got my new modem with the rs232 port installed. now its time to play!!!

DSL has better latencies than cable which it makes it better if you play games or need low ping times. If you don’t believe me have someone from DSL do a tracert (or traceroute) to a website and then do the same. Not only will the one with DSL have better ping times to the different hops, they will also have about 1/3rd the amount of hops.
Also, Adelphia’s uptime is shit. Not as bad as it used to be, but not as good as it should be.
id rather download at 800k than play games with a percentage better ping than cable.
Ive never had any problems playing online with cable, even b4 it was uncapped.

Since we have all cell phones, we don’t feel like paying for a a home phone when its a cell phone. Power link is amazing, I got there cheapest cap and I’m still getting 4 m/bs. Downloads are around 400 k/bs.
like I said in my last post, my landlord told me that you can now get naked dsl… although for the money, powerlink is probably the way to go (if you already have cable thru them)
I have a question, im not really sure what naked dsl is. From what I understand it could be one of tow things. Dsl on a phone line from a different carrier, or dsl on a line that has no phone at all, jsut dsl?

:word: The farther you are from the hub the slower it gets. At least with Powerlink it depends on how many people are on in your area at the time.
My vote goes to powerlink.

If he is a gamer or just a casual web surfer than DSL will not only be better, it will be cheaper. Adelphia is only better in the download speed category. BTW, uncapping would have nothing to do with games playing better… If you really are uncapped… (Not that it can’t be done, it’s easy, it just isn’t worth it)
