I’ve heard lots of bad things about verizon DSL… im in cheektowaga and ive had powerlink for 4 years or something now, i rarely have any problems and its stupid fast for me all the time no matter what time of day it is.

just upgraded my DSL (they gave me the basic package at first).

d/l anywhere from 190-250 kbps :tup: never seen it lower than that except on the server side limiting it. Overall, I’m happy

nice… do you ever really see those speeds though? I notice alot of servers I d/l from limited me anywhere from 50 kbps max to maybe 150 (give or take, obviously some faster than others)

That’s why i say PEAK & AVERAGE.

I can/do look at Bitlord, or in the MS XP download box and see speeds…

I like DSL for two reasons.

1. In my opinion its just as fast as PL.
2. Less money your giving to Adelphia that raises your rate if you try to cancel the cable service and just keep PL.

My thinking:

If I cancel the cable, my bill should go down. Well, it does, but the amount they charge for the PL goes up. Why? Is PL going to be faster because I’m paying more now? Nope. Still the same. There are still times when I can’t get online. I call Adelphia, and they say its my router. Too bad I don’t have one.

DSL on the otherhand, hasn’t given me any problems at all.

And as an FYI, you can get DSL without using Verizon as your local carrier. You could even ditch your phone service and get Vonage (broadband phone). It’ll work that way as well.

2. don’t complain that the price goes up when you cancel the TV service if you are recieving special bundle pricing at the time.

And to stay on topic, I will never have DSL again. It’s slow, plus having to run a land line, and pay the ridiculous setup fees associated with it is ridiculous.

dsl sucks balls compared to cable internet.

plain and simple, there is no way DSL is going to be any faster than cable.

never had a land line set up? every time I have they charge some ghey ass setup fee. no more land lines for me.
