For those of us that are going to DTP Calgary. Where do you want to stay? We can either stay downtown to fire it up at the clubs, and then take the subway to the Oval. OR we can stay at the Quality Inn with all of the other car clubs and participants, and then walk to the Oval. You decide.
StThe Best Western Downtown is $99/night, but I’m sure we can get a group discount. The Quality Inn is around $88/night. You decide.
Anyone with experience with any hotels?
We also need to decide how many nights we want to stay. We HAVE to stay Friday. The show is Saturday and is let out at like 11pm. So, the quesion is, do we want to stay a second night so we don’t need to drive home that late, or do you want to just drive home that night. I’m easy.
We need to decide ASAP, because we need to book rooms; so I encourage those that still need to let me know about their participation, to do so as quick as possible.
I say we stay downtown Friday night, and then at the Quality Inn Saturday night, and drive home Sunday. But that’s just me.
Well, the Best Western Downtown has everything we would need around it. Food, booze, clubs, etc etc. They said they have parking, but I still have to phone after my exams and find out everything about, including security.
Then it’s just a minutes walk to the subway station, and we’re at DTP in minutes. So we really won’t need to cab it anywhere. At least we didn’t have to last year at all. Only thing you need is a ride back to downtown from DTP after dropping off the cars. But then again, we could just hook up the subway once again. $2.
but seriosly the Marriot is where its at nice rooms decently cheap rates (about 140 after all the tax and shit) and prime location for going to the clubs.
Well, I’m not going to be able to arrange anything in the next while, so if someone needs a roommate to split the bill with, I’d down with that. Even if I have to sleep on the floor.
Thats about 18 people give or take. So how many rooms should we get, or rather, how many should I book? Maybe 7 rooms? 3 per? How do people feel about the floor? lol. Not sure. I need some feedback so we can make reso’s.
K, so I phoned Best Western Downtown, and they really rape you. lol. They say the one night stay is $82.55 +tax, but then at the end they tack on all the other charges, and it comes to $196.86 at the end of it. Brutal. So that was one of the cheapest downtown. Anyone have any other ideas around there? Anyone remember what we paid at the Marriot? If all else fails, we’ll need to just go to the University area and suck it up. lol.
