i had a light a come on today…dont know what it means…i could look through my owners manual…but im too lazy…but anyways it said…
ABS
INOP
it means your abs is inop!! may have a wheel speed sensor gone bad or water in the harness or something along those lines…
i have a 95 f-body as a dailer driver, that happend to me over winter, i unplugged my abs harness at the wheel speed sensor, and a bunch of water came out, and my problem went away…
inop means??
inpoper abs
Your ABS does not work
well…i started the car up…and now sign of the light on…put it in drive…down the street…put it in reverse…parked…no light…idk
“inop” means inoperable. Means it was screwed up for some reason. I know in the winter time that happends a lot when snow builds up over the sensor. After it melts away it will be fine.
:dunno:
maybe one of the wheels were spinning faster… I had that and it showed up as ABS light
but it hasnt snowed yet!!!
idk…stupid car…i think im going to blow it up and get the insurance money
means they can’t operate on your abs…just gonna have to unplug the ventilator (inoperable)
Thanks guys…but idk…it hasnt been on since then…so idk…blowing up the car i think…
mine is on also…just means no abs just like the old days
sweet now i can get a 12 bolt with out abs and it will still work ok???
not that im going to be gettin one anytime soon
Should be fine… rear wheel speed gets its signal from the vehicle speed sensor which is on the trans.
how about the abs sensor on the rear???
Yes, the ABS sensor is either on top of the housing or down by the end of each axle, depending on if it’s the 4 channel or 3 channel. Just buy a 12-bolt with the ABS provisions and you’ll be fine.
As far as the ABS inop light. I know I can force mine on if I start the car, accelerate and then slam on the brakes real fast. My guess is maybe it takes a second to go through the self-diagnostics so you can make it think it’s broken. Of course, I could be way off. If it was a one time thing it’s probably nothing to worry about though.
i know the abs sensor is in the rear…and soo does 8.1…we were just sayin that…and mine does come on when it starts up real quick…but not when i accelerate and slam on the brakes my low trac light comes on then…hahaha…but def. thanks for the input
 I wasn’t sure if you were serious or not. Some people don’t know how there cars are set-up. :dunno:
haha…its cool…some of my frineds cant tell an altenator from an ac condenser
Back in the day I worked at the BP gas station in Zelienople. A guy I worked with was going to do an oil change for a guy and was looking in the service manual to see what type of filter to use. He was standing in front of the car with the hood open and he had to ask the customer “Is this a 4-cylinder or a 6-cylinder?”
