Dunnville Autodrome SHUT DOWN by locals: *Please Sign Our Petition!*

Cross posted on roclife and three ontario boards with guys that ran there.

wow

Location…Location…Location.

Well, my approach is although I would not track my car now…it would be cool to take it to the track once I have it where I want it. From what I hear Dunnville is the choice for this forum. Plus, it looks like a good track to drive on.

BTW, 440+ signatures now.

that should be illegal that there business can be shut down like that. doesn’t it not matter that the owners need earn a living and feed their families? Stupid people, if anything this will just make the local streets more un safe because people wont have a way to test or improve their driving skills.

signed.

yeah, im all signed up on that for you guys, even though i dont track my car, still nice to see theres a place people can go to instead of taking it to the streets!

Even if you don’t road course your car, this is an attack on the noise associated with tracks. This will eventually affect drag strips, circle tracks etc. Lets do what we can to stop this crap now.

I only went a few times and i had the time of my life. I only wish it was closer and NOT canada.lol I hate breaking my car in another country.

signed.

Don’t even live in the state anymore but without Dunnville I wouldn’t have ever gone to that part of Canada or gone to a road course, or at least gone as often.

Signed.

word. Lancaster went through the same shit a few years back. all the people that had just moved to lancaster and the surrounding areas started complaining. thats why the races have to end at 11pm now where it used to go all night til it was over when i was a kid

well i would sign, but ive been banned for life apparently.

my help in this matter is probably not appreciated.

^^

ugh. I’m so endlessly tired of whiney motherfuckers crying about this type of shit

you knew there was a RACETRACK there when you moved there

why is government always standing up for the stupid?

ppl existed before the racetrack

Um… yeah, not really the case here. The Dunnville airport opened in the 40’s as an RCAF training facility. After WWII it pretty much closed and was a turkey farm at one point. I’m willing to bet the majority of the development in the area happened after 1940 but before 1999. In 1999 it was restored and rezoned for, “industrial, aerodrome, and special events use”.

Sometime before the 2004 opening of the Autodrome someone got the brilliant idea that as long as they didn’t have wheel to wheel racing that zoning would allow them to operate a track there since “it wasn’t a race track”. That reasoning was giving a bitch slap by the Canadian court system in the 5 year legal fight so now they’re trying to get the proper zoning. That’s a pretty serious uphill battle now that you’ve pissed off the local zoning boards, elected officials and neighbors.

I wish them all the luck and will sign anything you want saying I miss the track, but as stated earlier, I’m not getting my hopes up that I will ever take another lap around Dunnville. Something I’d love to be wrong about BTW.

FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUU

WTFFFFFFFFFFFF This SUCKS!!!

um are referring to my post?

meh, alright I wasn’t aware of that

I’m just still bitter about all the bs with lancaster and wny scca losing nccc due to the whiney neighbors

We lost NCCC because they decided to build a DORM at a community college, in the lot where we grid. Rumor has it that there still might be enough room for us to run for next season…

Long before the track was there the locals opposed the airfield. And after trying to fight the airfield for years, they got nowhere and gave up. When the track was added to the property they decided to restart their efforts against the property.
