i wouldnt want to drive my streetcar at the glenn… not a lot of whoopsie room to go off there
Weird thread bump.
Any updates since this is back up?
If you are judging a track based primarily or solely on it’s “whoopsie” room, you’re doing it wrong.
And if you’re racing your daily driver without SERIOUSLY considering what going off the track is going to do to it, you’re doing it even MORE wrong. I would run a DD at Dunnville all day…in fact I’ve done it multiple times. I would not run a DD at Watkins Glen unless I could afford to write it off.
Oh definitely, you shouldn’t partake in any racing adventure without being willing to write it off at any moment. Not disagreeing there. But I can’t think of any other track that has as much runoff room as Dunnville, so to hold that as the standard of where you will and will not participate is just unfortunately not possible.
yeah kinda wondered what a sand trap/gravel would do to standard ride height car, really seems to fuck up the others, then again the non “formula 1” style guys seem to make it back on the track ok. Obviously Tire walls, guard rails, those foam things fuck your car up. IDK.
As long as you don’t go in hot, sideways, dig and roll sand traps don’t typically damage tin tops.
but that is how you have fun…
