DYI: 3000GT Oil Pan by Final GTS

Nah… it is because people who actually are full of shit, like yourself, follow me around…

You’re arguing “even if I did” a whole hell of a lot for someone who didn’t do it.

And by the way, if you take upon the responsibility to help someone with your “expertise”, and they rely upon it, then it is not HIS responsibility, it is yours.

Well, then we obviously have very different views of what occured in that garage that night.

But that doesn’t change the facts. The fact is, it was still your responsibility in the end, it was you who ignored the warning signs, and for fuck sake, you were standing right there in the garage. You act like you paid me to come over in the first place, or you paid me to build you a crate engine. Laughable.

You should have just kept your mouth shut altogether, it would have saved us both a lot of time.

LMAO, what would you have me do? I dont really see another option?

Last I checked, I set the timing, and that was fine… that was all my “expertise” was used for. Putting RTV on a sealing flange? Expertise? Are you fucking kidding me?

Well for example, I helped a buddy install and degree a camshaft a few years back, well at one point when we were torquing something down my hand slipped and it allowed movement just enough to throw the timing off.

Obviously we didn’t know this at the time but a month or so down the road some stuff got messed up. The minute he told me about it we both thought back to what happened and the next time I saw him, I handed him $300 cash as I knew I was partially at fault.

It’s called respect. And no I’m not fucking kidding you. According to the stories it was your knowledge that determined there wasn’t enough RTV therefore yes it was your expertise.

I’m done shitting up this thread now. Sorry OP

:picard:

You call that shitty fucking adidas jacket clothes you cant work in?

You are the biggest FGGT on here and a fucking assclown.

Go challenge more people to races that you wont accept at starbucks.

Everyone who has ever met you knows what a homo and coward you are.

first, +karma for you… but yea, there is no sense going anymore with this, he’s just denying it again like always.

  1. Dan(FinalGTS) Is one of the most solid guys I have ever known.
  2. Unless you paid someone to assemble your motor you are pretty lame to try to rant about how someone who helped you might have been responsible for its failure. I’ll make sure to not lend a hand to people like this.
  3. Dan sucks at not posting in Viper threads and should post in other threads more often(non viper related) to be taken more serious.
  4. FGGTS

i didn’t start this, sorry but i’m not going to just sit here when he tries to blame it on me and my friend will who put the motor into the car… if you’d actually read everything instead of blindly defending your buddy you would see that for the longest time i didn’t even bring it up just for that reason, because it wasn’t something that was paid for, i’m not an idiot thanks. :bloated:

Its amazing that you guys are arguing over whether or not an oil pan was taken off and resealed. I just can’t picture that being something you forget. lol

you’re right, its not something you forget, I remember it perfectly lol

:word:

LOL, I dont even know why I am going to bother…

It isn’t whether or not it was taken off, its that I seriously do not remember being the one to do it, and why in the fuck would someone wait 7 years to mention this. And regardless of that, I have NEVER seen RTV manage to magically somehow end up anywhere other than where you put it, it always stays in a thick bead where it was, even if fucking SLOTHED on like some diff cases I have seen.

So, How did it end up in the pickup? How did a gigantic semi-ridgid ring of RTV somehow coil itself up and clog up an oil pickup screen? How the hell did it even approach the center pickup in the bottom of that pan? Interesting.

Sounds more to me like the original engine builders scraped the original RTV into the pan, and forgot to clean it out… hmmmm… You would need shreds of RTV to clog a pickup- where did those come from. considering the windage tray and crank girdle would keep any large peices away from the crank and pickup even if it did somehow manage to detach- which I know it wouldn’t in the first place.

This argument is the equivalent of asking someone stop at the store and grab oil for your car, come over and throw some oil in your car and leave. Then YOU DONT CHECK the level, ignore your gauges, and pop your engine as a result, and blame the guy who put the oil in. Yeah, mmmkay.

I absolutely refuse to take responsibility for

  1. Something that I honestly don’t remember doing, and goes against everything I have done for as long as I remember.
  2. Happened going on 9 years ago that I was never told about.
  3. Physically doesn’t add up based on a big ring of NEW RTV even making it there in the first damn place.
  4. The fact that for damage to have actually occurred, someone else must have been ignoring all of the warning signs, and was STANDING RIGHT THERE the whole time to begin with.
  5. Funny how even at that time, fixing and selling TONS of 3000GT related items, nothing like this has EVER happened anywhere else. Also interesting.

Anyone who knows me PERSONALLY knows that if I really thought I caused a problem, I would fucking make it right. Sorry. In this case, I dont.

I am done arguing pointlessly about this. If you really want to keep going, PM me Jay.

you’re so full of shit and you know it… and again the only reason I even said anything was because of YOUR post in this thread. In the end there were 3 of us there, and everyone else in this thread who will comment on it is just speculating because guess what, they weren’t there.

In any event I’m done wasting my time I actually have better things to do than sit here and argue online with you.

Just remember, Karma is a bitch  It’ll come around at some point

Cool story bro! You say this like I haven’t known the story FOREVER LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Maybe you should read some of what HE posted. You seem like a nice guy but I am just stating my opinion on the matter. I know for a fact dan would stand behind his work for any CUSTOMER and I would never hate on someone trying to give me a hand as a favor. As it would be MY choice that I would take RESPONSIBILITY for. :bloated:

your jackets really dirty in that picture…

mod vs mod??

thats like dividing by zero

Yeah I had a huge thing typed up but its not worth it. Dan runs his own shop and makes his customers very happy. A long time ago I worked for him and can attest that he does the BEST work of anyone I have ever seen. That is it I guess.

JT Jay is a good guy we simply do not agree on this person. I can certainly see his side of things but that is life really. Everyone has a story and it makes sense that his friends take his side and I side with my friend. But I have also knows Dan since I was about 5 years old and do not thing he would just screw someone over at all.

Dude… dude… duuuudddeee… bro

Did you miss the part wear he said he never had a tool in his hand nor was in clothes to do anything to the motor? Then there is photographic evidence that states the contrary… I am pretty sure if he just admitted he fucked up Jay would led this go. Instead he still denies it which I think is the largest problem.
