I’ve seen the other posts and can’t keep quiet anymore…
About 1.5 years ago i decided to modifying my 98 TransAm. I wanted to make it a full blown track car, maybe streetable if i could (didn’t care)
The deal was to put a LQ9 block in my car, all forged internals, custom grind cam.
Other mods:
A built TH400, 4000 stall converter
Moser 12 bolt with 373’s
NOS wet plate system 150 shot
custom fuel system
Torque arm
LCA’s
All suspension components
And the Biggie was the D1SC procharger
We agreed an a price of $18000 for the whole job. It was a big investment but something i really wanted to do. I gave him $9000 cash down to get started a year and a half ago and I haven’t even seen a spark plug from him yet…
Oh, I forgot, a Chromemoly driveshaft also
The only shaft I got was from J&J
So now my car sits in my garage leaking fluids and i’m paying a loan off that might not have any return on investment
he was prolly quiet b/c no one actually knew what happened before.
like i said, i never questioned that jnj did quality work, but the screwing over was just a little out of hand.
and when you’re in the situation of having so much $ invested (this example being almost twice as much as mine!) - it’s wishful thinking and best case scenario to just have the work completed. pulling out of the deal will only cause headaches, lawyers, court, etc… whereas getting it done at least makes both parties somewhat happy. it’s about giving the benefit of the doubt.
spence must not want to wait another year or two on a 6 month job…
