DYI: 3000GT Oil Pan by Final GTS

i heard if you fill an entire oil pan w/RTV you get a free keg

I DO really like the thread title

Does it have to be any particular type of RTV or just any old RTV will work?

Question:

If FinalGTS wasn’t fed by a silver spoon how did he start a business in H/S?

I mean was it an actual business or did you just sell porn to your buddies on class like me?

Where would you get the funds to start a business in H/S? I mean I worked in H/S at a few joints and I could hardly afford my 1989 chevy truck, insurance on it and fuel to fill it up with.

Just wondering Good Luck with the engine or lack there of.

I don’t know about others, but I was taking home 2-250 a wk in HS and that was 15 yrs ago. I heard he bought smashed/wrecked cars and parted them which if you have a market makes killer money

GLWS

Shit I was lucky to take home $200 working full time at $7 an hour in H/S

Gross $280 per week minus taxes = shit.

I made more money fixing cars, but it wasn’t a business. I thought you needed a license to buy totaled cars from auction? Did his parents allow him to do this at their home? Did he take out a loan to invest in tools?

lol, you want him to give you a play by play?

yea

Holy fuck… you are retarded

“Fought” “Faught” and “9 fucking years ago…”

serious question, did you ever make it past 6th grade?

SUCK MY BALLOON KNOT

i would nominate that for 2nd best response ever.

I am interested in knowing how a really young dude gets into working on vipers. it would take a hell of a lot for a young guy to even afford one, let alone afford one plus a shop, plus money to R&D performance solutions and advertising and such.

He probably grew up with a lot of connections into exotic cars. Seems to me that would really be the only way to pull off this type of business at such a young age.

A lot of people are probably pretty jealous of where he is in life (working on exotic sports cars and stuff), I am really more just curious.

That was MY JACKET at the time, ruined by doing stupid shit like working on cars while wearing it. EVER THOUGHT ABOUT WHATS UNDER IT?

Lets see.

Am I holding a tool in the picture?
No.

Did I already say that I was there SPECIFICALLY to align the timing belt for them?
YES.

Is that what I am doing in the picture?
YES.

No, this was not paid… not even gas money :run:

Yep. Exactly.

Kinda funny how it popped up in ?2007? on this website, in the middle of another argument if I recall correctly.

Shit, you could probably find the thread.

You are right, the POINT is that I am not apologizing for something I dont remember doing, dont think I would do, and doesnt make sense how it happened, NINE FUCKING YEARS LATER, with an ass-load of “oddities” surrounding the whole thing- not to mention for actual damage to have occured in ANY case- somebody else wasnt paying attention!

Thats the point.

I have answered the topic of “how I got into this” more times than I can count over the years. You guys really want me to explain it again?

LOL.

  1. I had a fair amount of cash when I was young by doing side jobs; repairing high-end paintball guns, repairing Gas R/C cars, etc.

  2. I bought a wrecked 3000GT VR4, and parted it out. Simple Ebay transaction.

  3. I bought another wrecked VR4’s and parted it out with the profit from the first.

[At the time, a 3K investment was EASILY turned into 15K in parts.]

  1. I bought an unwrecked 3000GT VR4 back in 2001

  2. I parted out more VR4’s

  3. I bought a new Viper in 2002.

  4. Started a small scale business dealing with Vipers in 2002, building on my friends with Vipers as an early customer base.

  5. 3000GT Market crashed in 2003

[I probably caused this one… LMAO. Myself and another guy went toe to toe and flooded the market, then a bunch of Johnny Come Lately’s found out we were making a killing, and overnight there was 20 guys doing the same as us]

  1. Started a full time legit business dealing with Vipers in 2004.

  2. Bought a new Viper SRT-10 in 2004 to learn the SRT-10 market.

  3. Diversified on my Viper market with some other super-exotics which were owned by Viper owners who already knew me.

  4. Went international with parts sales, and started taking on R&D for new components and revisions of current parts.

  5. Started doing Warranty work for Saleen Specialty Vehicles Inc. [Back before they were re-sold]

  6. Currently slipping into a couple other markets, and have begun R&D on Gen-4 Viper drivetrains.

Etc, Etc, Etc… Here we are.

I’ve been buying and selling and fixing cars throughout my high school career. I’m now a freshman In college and I have $36,000 worth of shit for my little business. It started off with a $200 car, and the only thing I’ve ever used were loans from a bank and a cosigner.

Gotta start somewhere. I currently am “Unemployed” Yet I bring in alot more dough a month than my friends.

Shit, I buy a car and part it out and I make enough money to cover my insurance, gas, and shopping money practically every month + enough money for my next business venture.

Cool beans! How old were you when you purchased your first viper? I have no idea how old you are. The guy across the street from my new house has a viper. After I beat him in my vette I’ll drop him your number.

This is also how I paid for my corvette in 2006 when I was 20.
