Installed it this morning and got one 0-52 mph run in on my short drive to work. It’s pretty damn cool.
I put in 20% for my driveline loss and it gave me 310 WHP. 400 crank (factory rated anyway) - 20% = 320. I wasn’t real happy with my launch so I think I can find that 10 HP.
Some other figures it spit out:
0-10: 0.86 sec
0-20: 1.77
0-30: 2.61
0-40: 3.43
0-50: 4.65
60’ 2.55 sec @ 28.1 mph
Max speed: 52 mph
Max acceleration: .95 G’s
Peak HP: 310
I’m going to try to find a quiet back road somewhere on lunch to do a “better” test.
Theres a proximity sensor that detects your face IIRC. So no, it’s not the accelerometer that shuts off the screen during calls. They put the same type of sensors on newer DSLRs for when you put your eye to the viewfinder.
heh, learn something new everyday. Didn’t even know the phone had one… always assumed that it was from moving the phone from vertical to horizontal while in a call that did it.
IDK if a better launch is going to help you, it should just take the max accel or at least an average of the top accels and use that in respect to weight.
You may only see the 310whp… did you want to pit it up against the drift box to see how accurate the ipod thing is?
Also, does this have a way to log your information?
just got it, put in base specs for the car i was riding in today, i looked up weight, and drivetrain loss online, entered it in, did a quick run and it was off the stock HP number by 2!
really impressive… needs to be done on country roads though it takes a while to calibrate etc…
the g meter kicks ass too… managed .7 in the car and 2.5 buy flailing the phone around in my hands lol
eh, everyone says that… i’ve had every cell provider in the area practically for myself or for work, at&t coverage in WNY is not good at all. maybe it’s ok in roch-cha-cha
One thing I don’t get is how it calculates even a rough estimate of HP when there is tire spin involved. My neon spins at 80 mph, so the forward motion is going to be much less than of a car with less power with full traction. I would guess that you almost need to have slicks to have it be accurate?
I recently switched from Verizon to AT&T, and definitely noticed a significant loss in coverage. It may just be in the buffalo area, but moving around, friends with Verizon almost always have coverage when I don’t.
It figures. I get this cool new toy and it rains on my lunch. I really want to get in a run where I’m not spinning through most of it and shutting down just as the car is hitting it’s peak in second.
I have had AT&T for 5 years now and I cover most of WNY for work, very very rarely do I lose signal. I have been very very happy, and when I am up for a renewal in October I will be getting and Iphone…
