E Fiddy Five AMG

cls = cockroach

I test drove one and ended up buying an M3.

When I need something more i’ll buy the M5…

They feel too large to me.

There is something about MB that really only applies to old people and black people. I’m not really sure what it is though.

So you test drove a $40k+ car but ended up with a sub $10k car?

Yup

I had a bunch of cars on my list to drive. The basic requirements were to be 4 doors and fun to drive for a daily. I have the vette to go fast.

I drove:

Volvo S60R (Used)
Volvo S80 (New)
MB E55 AMG (Used)
MB C350 (New)
Pontiac G8 (New)
Caddy CTS 3.6l ? (New)
BMW 335i (New)
BMW M3 2002+ (Used)
SRT-8 Charger (New)
TL Type-S (New)
Some Jag (New)

Then I ran across my 97 M3 and had the cash in had so I just bought it. It is quick, nimble, fun to drive, and gets good MPG on top of it. That wasn’t really a concern but it is a nice advantage.

Not one of those cars impressed me enough to buy it. I wanted an enthusiasts car, not a Buick. Most felt way too plush and dull for me. I want some feed back in my cars. For the money the BMW M3 rocks my world. Plus now I have a shit ton of money in the bank, Making Money for me!!

I’d say the second runner up would have been the new M3 (but its only a 2 door) or the CTS to tell you the truth.

Now I just might do something stupid like buy a 360 ,Viper, 427R for the vette…idk

New new or did you mean e46? The new ones come in 4 door.

I’ve been thinking about an e55 for a long time, and not sure if I can deal with the autotragic.

It’s funny that you have a similar taste in Vehicles lately.

X…

Doesnt matter what you buy, I can’t imagine you will leave it stock?

Unless it gets a baby seat :stuck_out_tongue:

I like the E55, I’d take 2

the E class is getting way too old in design at this point and as they say about german cars - they get cheap when they get expensive

0.9% financing on new bmws… but I’d probably lease one if anything right now.

I would only buy a used certified German vehicle.
Owning one out of warranty is not a great idea.

I almost bought a CLK55 AMG but after searching the forums and common failure costs, I walked away.

The E55 is about the only mercedes I would consider owning. Do it.

:nono:

more than he can afford pal

intellegent post right here… even if you do the work yourself, parts are still $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

but, honestly, they are sort of just boring to drive, they are great if you have a long highway commute, but if you have a lot of city driving, meh… the best thing is going through tires every 5k miles

that M5 and E55 are so hot.

^ what M5?

yeah, I have to agree a little bit.

I don’t have any experience with the newer generation, but a few friends have owned them in the past (S and C classes) and they were a nightmare mechanically. Parts were very expensive for even the most basic item and they seem like they ALWAYS needed some kind of work done to them.

Great riding cars though, very comfortable but unless you have a lot of $$$ laying around I’d go with a BMW (except if it’s under warrenty or very low milage)

IMO they are not very comfortable. The seats are too stiff for my liking. that is personal opinion though.

Oh and the 2001 generation E-Class did not have automatic lights

Drive the car yourself and make your own educated decision. It felt like a 1995 Impala SS way to much to justify a 40K+ price tag.

I cannot stand the rear ends on these. Otherwise the car is nice

meh very old man looking…

Here you go!
