So now I have decided to get an e36 328 sedan. I want a winter package sedan, manual, and miles don’t matter. Lightly modded is ok, I am planning on doing a 3.15 LSD, sways, coilovers, a chip and maybe a wheel setup like ultradriver10000 so I can do 245’s at all corners. I prefer black exterior, whatever on the interior. I just don’t want to spend $4k on a 200k 328 that I will put $2k into, when I could get an M3 with 200k for $6k.
I have also wanted an 04-05 2.5rs, must be manual, black or san remo red exterior.
I have added NA(first gen. pop up headlights) Miata to my list. Would prefer a 94-97 1.8, hardtop and M-package to get an LSD would be awesome.
Cars I am also looking at, not as realistically though:
96-98 cobra (probably my least comfortable option)
04-05 wrx sedan or wagon (I know addicted2boost got his with 165k for $5500)
e36 M3 (Frost1280 was having trouble getting $7k with his with 130k, so I would rather spend $3k upgrading to his over $4k on a 328 with a bunch more miles that I still want to put money into)
Fuck that, if HX’s don’t have cruise I’m not getting one. I am definitely looking for an e36 328 sedan too. They get 30mpg highway and I would definitely want one for track days as well. Hell I could get a c5 or an s2000 and get 30mpg as well. I wanted 45mpg, but I want cruise for the road trip.
Come to think of it, there’s an HX coupe at a small dealer down the street from me. Has a rebuilt title, but appears to be in good shape. Automatic, if you want me to find out more I can.
My girlfriend already has an auto eg dx hatch. My goal was to get something that gets better gas mileage and has cruise. An ex will have cruise but I’d be lucky if it got any better mileage, and since an hx auto doesn’t have cruise or get as good of mileage it’s a wash and we might as well use her car.
I’m changing the title of the thread and the specifics.
Obviously I will check out anything I buy, but if I buy something now, I have plenty of time to do some fixings ups before July. I don’t mind if a car needs work as long as it’s clean and runs shifts good. Plus I’ll be able to tell what it needs when I check it out so I’ll leverage that against the price, and having 2 cars already means I’m not in a hurry to fix it, I won’t even put it on the road till it’s 100% and after I sell my subaru.
I have been looking for a 328, since I actually would have fun driving one of those I could deal with getting 30mpg instead of 35mpg.
I was already planning on it, Josh told me about it. There is a nice blue M3 coupe on bimmerforums with 190k asking 6300/BO. I would prefer a 4dr though, especially a 328 for like $3k.
