e36 window problem

so neither window will go down on my dads e36 is this a common problem and? if so whats the easiest way to fix it?

Step 1. Is there power going to the window switches?
Step 2. Are the window switches good and sending power to regulator?
Step 3. If both yes, then replace window regulator.

The regulators suck on E36s and commonly go.

so its most likely the regulators because their is power to everything. where is the best place to buy them? thanks for the help

I got mine from ebay…

I’d find the manual for the car, look up the fuses for the windows, and check to make sure those aren’t blown.

If there is power to the switches, the fuses are not blown.

I haven’t seen anything posted in this thread by the op that says that there is power to the switches.
