E85 Locations

90% as in E90, or you mean 90% of E85 purity

I don’t disagree, after a few pump gas mishaps, I don’t mess around with 93 pump - starting with the last engine that lasted a long time. But damn, C16 is not cheap.

I agree with you here. I run 10psi on pump and never turn it up without an alternative fuel. While the difference in e70-e85 might not be HUGE i would want to know and be consistent. When running 1000+hp and a motor you have a ton of $$$ into really it does matter to me.

I think its more a concern for people who run E85 year round. In the winter you can see some really bad mixes. Per regulations they are supposed to never go below E70 but I bet it can get worse than that occasionally.

I could have sworn i saw on a pump it said minimum 50% ethanol content. But yeah i imagine at this point in the season it could be not so good of a blend.

Wow. E50 would certainly change things quite a bit.

Ill check, theres an e85 station right near my house.

And the winter blend is really a none issue since most people don’t take out their turned up race cars during those months.

tested in the tube it was reading above the 90 line, so however you interpret that is what the content was haha

like I said, worrying about the fluctuation is a moot point. Unless you’re tuned to the uttermost insane level on a certain content then there is no issue at all. If you want consistency then go buy some c85. The e85 you get from the pump will NEVER be the exact same blend from fill up to fill up. Justin also made a great point as well, who takes their boosted race car out in the winter for the e70 fuel anyway?

I was thinking of going e85 and running it all the time.

You guys realize E85s octane level is something like 104-105 even if it was E70 you’re still looking at 98ish

Also with the high latent heat of evaporation the intake charge is much cooler and again less chance of detonation.

Fully aware.
