Earth day '08

sooooo… how about hump day?

Three of us went to Fuddruckers and ate meat that came from a cow that probably died a horrible death.

But cows produce methane, which is bad for global warming, so we were just doing our part to save the earth by getting rid of a few cows.

^cooling the planet, one cow fart at a time

Someone at Praxair gave a presentation on global warming and one of his suggestions was to eat less meat. That’s right. Eat less meat. Because that will have an impact.

The idea was that forests are cleared for cow pastures, so eating less meat would mean fewer cattle and thus fewer trees cut down. I guess it’s logical, I just think he can’t see the real magnitude of the problem because the tree he’s hugging is in the way.

Less cow pastures, more fossil fuel-burning power plants. :picard:

The head of PETA has been noted in saying the same thing, eating meat is most detrimental to global warming/climate change for the reasons state above. Hell, even Corn-Ethanol production is a cause for the same principle of having to slash forests for new land to grown more corn.
