EBAY HACKING!

Ok…sooo all week ive been getting emails from some bogus ebay hosting site or some bullshit asking me to do all this stuff. I opened the emails and never clicked any of the links, just deleted the emails.

Today I get an email confirming my change in email address on ebay. This was legit, because I tried to sign on and couldn’t. Some d-bag changed everything on my account… the pw, security question, and even had a mirror email address with some wack email server.

The guy inquired about a bunch of expensive shit like diamond and platinum rings and wanted to know if the seller would ship to england!

This is the computer info that ebay gave me when the guy accessed my account

Change of email address request was made from:
IP Address: 172.158.34.50
ISP Host: 10.10.63.245

Just a heads up to everyone to just delete the ebay emails and not to open them… plus it might be time to change the passwords again so this doesnt happen to you.

is your email password the same as your ebay password? I dont see how that could’ve happened by just opening an email unless they were the same.

I’d recommend to everyone to also have DIFFERENT passwords for stuff like that, especially your paypal! It is linked directly to your bank account!

That sucks that it happened, and hopefully nothing bad happened to ya!

i’d check your cc statements…if you had them in paypal. i got some stupid link, and i was a stupid female and must have clicked on something… and i had like all these “people finder” charges over the next couple days from mexico.

they already have your info so watch it.

call ebay… they will take care of it

Duh, ebay states directly they will never email you for password or to change your email, etc. Same as paypal, thats why I always delete them.

The only time you get an email from them is if you are expecting it. Aka when I change my address it will inform me about 2 seconds after I did it, but thats it.

Shitty to hear what happened, hopefully ebay can get it back for you.

no. they will call you a moron and say if you have any charges, dispute them with your credit card company.:eekdance:

Ok so i got my account back and called my cc company and canceled the card and put a flag an all activity.

Ya my passwords are all diff but I changed all of them anyway… what a pain in the ass
