So its eight years later and they’ve only gotten cheaper. I’m finding mixed reviews…some guys swear by them. It helps that I can buy three for the price of one to have a spare to swap out should one fail. So…thoughts?
Lots of guys on LS1tech have runs 9s and 10s with eBay turbo on 5.3s and 6.0s with no issues
I ran a 76mm on3 turbo on my camaro for the past 2 years, it has been great so far.
This makes me want to turbo the miata.
Since I have to pull the motor to get to both, I tend to err on the side of pay a little more for a solid product.
it wouldnt surprise me at all if some of these things were pretty solid units nowadays. the development and warranty / replace cycle has been long enough for these places to put a reasonable product together.
i still wouldnt do it personally but im sure the failure rate is under 50% by now.
This car runs a pair of those cheap On3 turbos

In fact those budget 76mm turbos work so well they packaged a kit for them
