emission questions

hey,

I tried to search around for this, but most threads were with boosted cars…
my s13 has an upgraded fuel pump(walbro 255) anyway, i havent driven this car much except around my block for my reasons, but I plan to go get it emission tested this week, it has NGK platinum plugs, ractive exhaust(just muffler) the rest of the engine is stock…the guy i bough ti toff put the walbro in there, n i was told that it would fail e-test for sure with it…is there anyway i can lean it out a bit to help out on the e-test?

i was told to take out the filter so that more air can get in to lean it out, drive it till empty and put in high octane gas n drive that in a bit…then the day i take it to emissions, drive it till it’s warm with the filter out, and go get it e-tested…

right now i dont have the money to put in a fuel pressure regulator, but if that is pretty much the easiest way(besides what i listed above) to get it legally e-tested, then i’ll have to wait another week to get the FPR…

any helpful input is welcome…

thanks…

Your car should pass just fine, Walbro or not.

Make sure you’ve got clean oil, a good cat & O2 sensor, preferably some good fuel and/or some “Sure Pass” from Canadian Tire and a generally “healthy” car, then run the car for a good while before getting tested, all just to make sure.

Other than that, no reason you shouldn’t pass. Good luck.

Edit: My car has a Walbro and a KA turbo set up, and still passed.

ahh ok, yea i was gonna grab some of that sure pass stuff, i just got an oil change yesterday, i got about half a tank of gas, soi 'm gonna put the sure pass in there, and try driving it arond for a good while till it empties, then put in high octane gas, drive around a bit n then go for the test, thankss
