Empty Kegs

how much is a deposit on kegs in ny? it might be profitable for me to have a couple parties and just sell them to you after lol

$30 deposit, $50 NYState fee. Possible clause for larger charge if you don’t return the kegs within XX days?

so that fee is refunded though right? they just charge that so people dont get kegs pretty much

Their official excuse was cause you have to leave the thing with your name on it on the keg to get the money back. When people have keggers with underage people and they’d get busted, they’d rip their name off the keg, say it wandered into the house, and just screw the deposit.

um, not if you dont return the kegs. They charge it to deter underage drinking.

lol wow, pa is much easier, i worked at the local beer store for a couple years and there is no true way to prove that a keg was bought by someone

its $30 deposit and thats only bc people were taking them to scrap yards when scrap was high so they raised the price to higher than they are worth for scrap

if your serious i could talk to my old boss and see if he could save a couple and we could arrange a price and a way to meet up

I am dead serious and I will drive out to pick them up!!! All he has to do is give me a $$ and I will buy.

ok i will talk to him and see what he says, do you have an offer for them ? and you want the straight kegs and not the round coors style ones

I want the straight ones yes. I am not sure what they are really worth i guess. I am just willing to but them as long as they are not astronomical in price.

I can either buy and modify Kegs, or spend $150+ on a stainless steel pot and modify that.

i will talk to him and see what he says, since its kind of against the law im sure he will want some kind of compensation lol

My work usually has a bunch of these things kicking around, people scrap them and get $10 instead of returning for the deposit…

If you see any let me know.

Where do you work?

I have a “Coors” style keg, actually came with Genny in it. I can pick it up next time I’m home if you’re interested.

When I saw that I figured it was for cryogenicly freezing people, but then I didn’t see the place to insert tuna cans and realized something was awry.

edit: where’s the video of that picture, I want to see what happens with that dog on the trampoline in the background, I bet it’s stellar.

LOL The forum where I got that picture, 80% of the comments were about the dog on the trampoline.

really disappointed it wasn’t brought up earlier in this thread… i actually did a find for the word dog because i was sure i was missing it somehow.

i have a labatt 1/4 keg its in awesome condition

Thanks all that have responded. Unfortunately the 1/2 barrel and non rounded guidelines are very strict to this application.
