I was teaching the wife to drive stick on the GTO a couple weeks ago in one of the back lots at UB on a Saturday morning. UB cop drove over and watched us for a bit then parked in the next lot over to run a radar trap on one of the campus streets.

I taught my brother to drive stick in a church parking lot. He kept dumping the clutch and doing burnouts. A nun came out to yell at us and I told her what we were doing. She laughed and tried to give him some pointers!

I learned in Lancaster many moons ago on Commerce Parkway. It’s a business area, but it’s a road with lots of big parking lots to turn around in and practice parking/backing up and shit. It’s deserted after 5pm (all businesses close). Google it and take a look, it was very nice actually. I’m not sure if it changed since then or not.
