does any one know of some good drift parking lots or roads that dont get used much that would be good for some winter drifting? my neighbor hood is good but i think the neighbors are going to catch on soon…
Groat Road.
Edit, I see you’re in Calgary. N/M
I find a churches in alberta have huge parking lots (not as big as a mall or anything) but they suffice. . .
Im sliding my Sunbird all over crescent heights area, the high school roads are big for a 4x4 grid.
I say we start up a Winter Drifting course one of these days.
GO to new areas in your city!!! they have less traffic than older areas and are big pimpin because they are new roads.
yeah i went into a fully undeveloped hood which was cool, but insead of parked cars, you had to watch out for dumpsters and stacks of plywood…
we should totally plan a day were we get some pylons and and find a nice snowy open lot and do a drift course! im in for sure
who needs a parking lot?? the whole city is your playground LOL!
not a chance man, half the roads are so frequently used and plowed/salted that they are dry dry road.
Worst feelingyou can feel in your winter beater, slide the ass and then hit a dry patch and give your cars whole body a kick in the ass.
Mckenzie/Barlow industrial area
i have some pylons …invite me bros! i am down for a ebrake bagging :drinkers:
jason lange says there is an emergency airoprt just south of the city… if no one is every there, that could sure make for fun times… done anyone know were it acctually is?
lol, i got busted with 240driftzzz out in the middle of no where by kincora a new coop parking lot. We had cones setup and shit…
There was nobody there except for some dood who has in a truck plowing the parking lot, he just watched us…
Apparently, there is a suburb over the hill and since jays car is fukn heatbag style someone called the cops…
Btw, we were there for like half an hour atleast… maybe an hour. LOL
I looked on Google Earth south of Calgary between Okotoks and i found nothing that resembled an airport. I did see some guy has a huge oval on his property though. Could be a massive dirt track…
yeah i bet there are lots of rednecks out there who take there f350’s circle trackin… i just have to keep lookin. i know when i worked construction out by 37th st and anderson, we got to take this back road to cut across the indian reserve. i found the road, its crazzzzzyyyyy for driving on, lots of sweet turns, but its fully fenced and locked up… bolt cutters anyone?
Ya i know about that reserve road to, never been on it though.
I talked to a few people from Okotoks about an airport they said there is one on the North side of town so im going to look again after work. Apparently called Air Ranch or something…
hmmm. i have herd of the air ranch, but i thought that was a private port. there is the ltimate parking lot out there somewere !
Man, we should make a new sticky: “Ultimate Parking Lots”
:partyman:
Try and get your buddy to draw a map or something, i would have no problem going to check this out. I can talk with the owners of Air Ranch if they have a huge open tarmac we could possible rent it for drift events.
theres a map at this site- http://www.okotoksairranch.com/
go to contact and it will bring one up. the thing is there is alot of anal people that live in the new development right beside the air ranch(im doing the plumbing up in that area) so i dont know if they would be to keen on letting us rent it out for a night. its worth a try though. ill see if i can get some info next time im there.
Holy resurection!!
Ive been out to that Air Ranch and have spoken to the managers there. There is no way they were going to let us rent it for drifting.
