Engagement Rings

cash rules everything around me

Everything around me rules cash

I have been passively shopping myself and I am just curious as to around what size everyone has been buying. I have been looking at getting a stone and then a setting and I personally think that the whole 3 months salary thing is assinine. I’m not spending $10k on a ring but taking into consideration the things that have been said here I was thinking a 1-2ct single stone was good or is that too small?

I saved a ton of money and gave Yo Rita my great grandmothers Engagement ring 3/4 ct diamond 14k band. I just had to have the diamond put in a new setting

BTW in three days we tie the knot!

Damn looks like I got lucky my great grandma passed her stone down to me.

Do you mean a 1/2ct stone or a 1 to 2 ct stone?

word, cuz 2 carat is pretty big lol…and expensive.

I mean 1 to 2 carat

.75 is the absolute smallest I think I could ever go and still feel like a man.
I have been looking at g or h color vs2 vs1 clarity with good to very good cut in round, princess, pillow, raidiant or asscher so its a pretty big grouping and I know my GF wants a plain band very classic looking so all the cost is going to be in the stone.

I’m basically getting an idea now to pack away cash over winter and not finance anything in spring time or so

I have seen some 1.25s in the $6k range but in my mind I feel like $4000 is a more reasonable price for a ring but I also know that I am a very cheap person lol

I’m having Dave look for anything under 1 carat. Both me and her don’t think it’s worth spending thousands…so trying to keep it under $2k.

I also found out her sister-in-law works at a jeweler in California so I might be able to get the setting dirt cheap.

its seems like the .8 and .9s are alot cheaper than the 1cts but the size is barely noticable

That’s what Dave told me. As soon as you hit 1.0, price goes ^^. Stick to anything under that and you’ll be good. And have Dave look for you, he might have what you want.

I’m having both him and my future sister-in-law (I guess?) look for something that works for me.
