what kind of engine oil does the 2005 altima SE R use for oil changes? synthetic or non? any specific brands do you guys use?
What ever you like. 5w30-0w-30 in the cold months. and 10w-30 in the summer. I like Q horsepower. Others like German Castrol, alot of people like Mobile 1. The most important thing is to change it every 5000K, and stick to 5w-30. Even with the cheapest oil you can get you can’t go wrong if you change every 5000k. A cheap Synthetic brand like formula 1, Q horsepower, Penzoil, Valvoline etc. is Enough. I do 4-5 oil changes a year on average every 3 months. Wait until the VQ starts burning oil…keep an eye on it…1 to 1.5 quarts between oil changes for me.
i would suggest starting to use synthetic but thing is once you start its highly recommended that you dont switch back to the lower grade.
