Eric's 2008 Honda Fit

I decided its time for a build thread for the fit since I have some parts on the way for it and some others will be ordered shortly as well.

Well its a 2008 Vivid Blue Pearl Honda Fit 5MT Base. I got it in June of 2008. My plans for the car are to keep it as functional as possible but also enhance its driving characteristics enough to make it more enjoyable to drive. As of right now the only modifications to the car are:
K&N Typhoon Intake
15X6.5 Rota Circuit 8 wheels with Yokohama S.Drive tires
Yakima Ski and Bike racks.

Currently in the mail I have a set of T1R S Spec 12 way adjustable dampers and springs, and once that gets installed I plan to buy a new header, b-pipe, and axle back and take care of that aspect of things all in one shot. That will most likely be it for any modifications except for maybe a few minor cosmetic things here and there. Like I said I’m not trying to totally overhaul my car just make it fun to drive while still maintaining its sense of capability. Here’s a shot of it and the suspension I ordered. Lemme know what you think.

I like it, it looks good on bronze wheels. It’ll look way better once you get that new suspension in too. Whats the drop going to be like on the new springs?

Fit’s are awesome
IMO one of the sweetest daily’s
I would love one for a daily
sweet ride duuuuuuuuude

40mm front 35mm rear so in english 1.6" up front 1.4" in the rear.

Nivw. gonna look nice with no wheel gap

Looks great man. If I were in your shoes I’d do the exact same stuff. How do you like the S.Drives? I’ve got a 205/45/16 set on my Integra and it’s hard to beat the performance for the price.

I have really limited experience with season specific tires, as in this is my first set of tires that arent classified as an all season. But yeah I was really impressed at how much of a difference they made in the cars ability to hold onto a turn when I put them on. Mine are 195 55 R15 for reference.

I’m pretty sure for an exhaust I’m going to not skimp out and I’m gonna go with a header b-pipe and axleback from T1R as well. They really did their research on pipe diameters and it turns out that most aftermarket exhaust systems are a tad too wide for the fit to work efficiently, making them pretty much a wash performance wise. Based on the Dyno results Ive seen on fitfreak.net the gains from the T1R setup could be pretty impressive depending on how reliable the results are. Regardless even if its a wash performance wise I really like the baller looks of the T1R set-up.

Heres what AJ Racing got for Dyno results comparing the stock fit vs. The same fit with a T1R I/H/E b-pipe and lightweight crank pulley. Also there is a graph for the exhaust minus the header as well.

Any lip ideas?

I assume you’re not going for any sort of drag racing with the car, and that’s good, however might as well take advantage of that suspension and rip around an AutoX this year.

I do indeed recall this car running at LVD once last year :ninja

lol I took it to LVD a couple times last year for shits and giggles,Warning pathetic numbers alert 17.2 was the best I could get out of it. Bone stock I cut a 2.3 60’ and ran a 17.3, with the intake and wheels I cut a 2.49 60’ and ran a 17.2, I’ll prolly take it again a couple times this year, I want to see if the suspension and exhaust will make any difference down the track. I also wouldnt mind giving auto x a try but I’ve got a lot of research to do as I have no idea how it works. For example, when I watch an autocross vid on youtube all I see is a mess of cones, I have no idea how to go about navigating that stuff lol.

Oh and as for lip ideas that’s most likely a negative, with the drop the car will be low enough for me as is. Being a skier and a biker I have to navigate some parking lots that have some less than ideal surfaces, I need to maintain some ground clearance if I can. As for appearance items I may do an OEM CF hood some day, possibly a Fit sport wing and possibly some window visors

hey who mounted your tires they look awsome =] lol

mmm Mugen Window Visors :ahh

I’ll go with you to one fo the local autocrosses and show you what to do. It’s really easy to navigate, just gotta walk the track a few times, think of your ideal lines, etc…
