I get the brake squeek every now and again even with the stockers, from what I’ve read it’s normal with performance brakes.
I love my weighted shift knob but I miss the size of the OEM knob. I also found that doing the Redline cocktail (2 Quarts MTL-85 and 1 quart MT-90) helps with the 2nd and 3rd grind issue. Under console and under hood bushings as well as a short shifter make it even better from what I’ve read so those are next for me.
My stockers squeeked too. After homework, I found HPS’ dont squeek but are just as good, if not better, than stock for DD. Easy decision.
Short shifter with all new bushings is a tax purchase for me next year. Since I dont wanna put really any more power in this, I wanna change other shit, like the ride height and the shifter and the appearance of some things, and possible add factory bluetooth and factory full-color dash.
i had racing brake et500 on my evo x and love them. if you haven’t already picked up the hawk’s i would say you should try them out. i got all my stuff through maperformance.com great source for evo parts, will beat just about anyone on pricing if you call them up.
I did. They said 6-10 moderate 30-35mph–>0mph, well I did 10. Then they said 2-3 real hard 40-45–>0. I did 3. Then wait 15 minutes to cool down. I let it sit over an hour. Good to go I hope they do something for me.
And you have no idea how to bed in pads. When they say let them cool, they don’t mean stop the car on hot pads and let it sit there. They mean drive around using them sparingly so you don’t get deposits.
You’re beyond help and reason at this point, I hope for that car’s sake it spontaneously combusts.
I went crazy colors on purpose. I deliberately chose an ugly color scheme.
The side of the box says “let the brakes cool down for fifteen minutes” not “drive around sparingly stopping” so what better way to cool brakes off than not use them at all?
