^:lol
Ivey is the same way along with most other shops for that matter, there’s a waiting list of a month or more to get a tune. In the middle of a recession people are still dropping money hand over fist on their toys. I’m not surprised since I’m one of those people i’m just sayin’ :lol
Ern are you going for just an ECU tune or a dyno tune?
Yeah the paint on these is just so thin. Granted when you do donuts in gravel shit happens but for a rally car you’d think they throw a couple more coats of clear on it at the least.
Deff more clearcoat this time.
Dyno/open source tune.
Lake placid is far. Thats why he is more available. He has been doing tunes for years and years. He isn’t bad at it.
My comment about fwd, awd and rwd was not clearly expressed till after. I’m not dumb, nor am I ignorant. Morgan has never cracked open an EvoX ecu…its that simple. I just dont want to be the first. Am I such an idiot for making that claim?
Mr. Werewolf and I already discussed the climactic and elevation changes. He tunes car from this area more than you know…If morgan didn’t have an AWD dyno now then this conversation wouldn’t be happening. You guys would tell me to go to connecticut or buffalo or lake placid. There isn’t (until a couple months ago) a CLOSE awd dyno tuner. I have been looking at moon since I bought the car. Synapse wasn’t an option then. I narrowed it down to the Conn and LP tuners and talked to both and the Conn tuners seemed like jerks to me on the phone, both guys I talked to. So since Taylor and Jim were nice AND knowledgeable, not just smart, they’re getting my business.
^^Thats sooooo unheard of in the world of customer service…two very good shops, with well built reputations, one was more personable and friendly and helpful. Of course I’m going with the non-dickheads. I’m not benny, you know
Thanks! I wanted a pic but it was too dark and my phone dont flash
I wandered all over. I didn’t see your car though. However, I did see it at LVD a couple weeks ago, parked, slammed as shit. Looks sweet
you act like hes dissassembling your ecu and then putting it back together. The mitsu ecu programs are not all that different. the programs are very similar.
People come from all over the country to have synapse work on there shit…
get a hold of turbotekray on here if you don’t feel comfortable with morgan tuning your car. he’s good aswell.
in all honesty morgan is more than capable of tuning the car. load the tephra rom, add the options you want and take it from there. its all the interface which is a bit confusing but give him some time and he’ll get it perfect.
he did a great job on my car with what i brought to him and i was the first stock ecu evo, even though my car was a bit handicapped and i didn’t know till after
372whp netted 117mph fwiw
Ok. That and along with everyone local, they will be more busy than a tuner in a quiet area that’s known for doing mostly awd. Also Synapse tapped into the Honda community, which pretty much has the biggest tuning scene.
This whole thing is stupid anyways. You guys give him shit for not getting his car tuned. Then when he finally does(and picks a reputable place) its still not good enough and he should wait LONGER(even though everyday he goes without a tune it somehow makes all your blood pressure go up enough that you have to check on this thread and type more nonsense so you all feel better) and go to synapse.
my only exp with moon was on travs s.t.i that being said the car ran greattttt once i fixed travs problems with it . no lazy spots or anything else . if ya wanna use him go for it
:rofl
I haven’t heard anything bad about Moon, just was honestly wondering the reason you chose them over Synapse. You told me that the waiting was a major part so that makes sense to me. Sure they’ll do a great job, I passed there a couple weeks ago and they looked like they had quite a few cars in the lot (scoobs).
Whats the matter with the whip?
As long as youre going open source and with a well known shop nobody should be complaining. More people are going to support Morgan because he is local and damn good at what he does but its not like Moon is half a day away by any means either. Very interested to see your graphs.
its severly down on power
92 in the 1/8th and i was going almost 94 last year with the same 1/4mi trap as last year.
it needs throttle body shaft seals along with where ever else there is a boost leak that needs to be fixed. not happy with the car atm to say the least.
This
That sucks. How you gonna find out where there are other boost leaks?
do a boost leak test up to 30psi with my special tester i have made
“special tester”? Why does that not sound legit? lol
A boost leak tester can be made from home depot materials for about $12. not a rocket science brah
and I haven’t heard anything bad about Moon, you should be fine going to them for a tune, but I see alot more options towards NJ/CT.
fuel trims are fuel trims, timing is timing, etc… If you can tune a Honda, you can tune a Evoh, a camero, a street bike… doesnt matter, engines are engines… badges on the hood dont make a difference.
and the drive to lp is 2.4 hrs on the northway which blows dick, and once you get off the ride to Jay and 86 to Moon is nice… but now since its nice out all the pull offs are full of hikers, and climbers, and everyone drive 40 in a 55 to look at trees and shit. I just went this weekend, and the ride we usually hammer on and have fun driving i was stuck behind retards 20 deep at one point becasue of this shit. go during the week, weekends wont be fun. not to mention the “fun” roads are no more than 20 miles worth anyway.
